Status Update!

Hey Kitties! Hope you're all doing well! I'm back again with a little status update to let you all know where I'm at with Girl Games. But before we get into all that, first thing I should say is: I'm pausing billing for another month. Meaning, you won't be charged a dime on February 1st (at least not from me, lol). As I've stated before, I don't feel at all comfortable taking money from you if you're not getting anything new in return for it. I'll be keeping things on pause here until I have the bare bones story fleshed out (as detailed in my last-but-one post) and playable from start to finish.

In the meantime, please stick with me! It's costing you nothing and I promise I'll send a heads-up before I turn billing back on - this time next month at the very soonest.

So onto the status update, and this comes in two parts I guess.

Part One is I've gotten super organized. Seriously, I've kinda shocked myself by how thorough I'm being with everything, this time around. I'm working on that basic-ass Twine version, just plotting out the main beats of the story, start to "finish" (so, first day of college, right up to the night of the Girl Games competition itself, four weeks later ...). I'm hesitant to say Finish with a capital F though, because my dream is that once the competition itself is over with, the game opens up into a more sandbox style affair, where you can just go off into the city, get jobs, hook up with strangers in night clubs and of course buy a shit ton of cute girly clothes if that's your thing (it's definitely my thing, so don't worry, I'll be cramming the stores with fun items!). But that's all just future stuff, and for now I'm keeping it to a four week plot arc.

So anyways, I've got the Twine project coming along pretty darn well. I'd say it's maybe around 60% complete as I write this (although it would make no damn sense to anyone who saw it. It's all just code and caps lock text with stuff like HEATHER SHAVING SCENE and so forth at present.) That's because I've got a second document on the go too, this time in Scrivener (which is the writing software I use day in day out for my eBooks), and I'm working on the writing there as opposed to typing it directly into Twine. Does this matter? Maybe not. Is it overkill? Quite possibly. But does it mean I can full-screen the prose as I write it and make the whole thing super juicy and involving and kinky as hell?! You betcha!

And that's not all. Because I've been haunted by all the comments over on TFGames about the old paperdoll looking kinda shitty and "too feminine" at the start. So I started hunting around for an artist who might be willing to re-do the artwork ... And then I got a little distracted looking into ways I might be able to do the art myself (again) ... And so I figured what the hell, I'd take another stab at it myself! So a few weeks ago I invested in a drawing tablet and some fancy Vector graphics software called Affinity Designer and I'm excited to share my early results with y'all.

Now, maybe you'll straight up hate this new look for the player, but I'm kinda into it and I hope you'll agree that it's something of an improvement on the last paperdoll?! So ladies and gentlemen, please meet the new improved Ethan ... Oh and Allie too of course!

So? What do you think? Are you okay with this for the new paperdoll style? Do let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

That's it for now. I'm gonna sign off here and get back to work. But I'll be back in a week or two with another status update for you.

Until then, thank you so much for all your support and sticking with me on this. I promise it'll be worth it!

Radical686 - glad you like it! Yes, eventually there will be a route for hormones, breast implants, gender reassingment, the works. And I'm going to want to try and make two versions of each top part of the girly clothes too - one if the player tries them on without breasts/padding and another with. Hell, even a third version for super large breasts too I guess. But the great thing about the new vector graphics software is that I can make those tweaks pretty easily - it's no more than a few minutes extra work and an extra 'layer' to export and add to the inventory ... But as with the model for my basic "main plot beats" story stuff, I'm gonna make sure I have all the basics down first and THEN start working on the fun extras! So in the initial four-week span of the game, that will probably be limited to tucking/makeup/padding or breast forms and shaving, in terms of feminizing the player. But then yeah, I TOTALLY wanna let players get permanent transformation work done if they want to! x

I actually like the new paper doll better. You may need to adjust the images if the character goes on hormones, but this is a good start. I think the thing I disliked the most about the previous images was the face. I didn't mind the body as much, but the face had a squirrely rodent quality to it.

Thank you so much both! Leah, it's comments like this that keep me going! You're a sweetie and I'm so glad you're on board for the new avatar. And Patrick - thank you for continually being part of the dialogue! I don't always reply, but I love how you always have something constructive to say! What's more, I've taken your comments on board. It's all still in flux, this is just a first draft, but I've already done a few small tweaks to the image - making it a touch skinnier and removing the 'abs'. And yes, there will totally be a bunch of (annoying) body hair that you'll need to remove! x

I think this is interesting. The original was rather girly, which made him easier to feminize, but when in t-shirt and jeans he doesn't seem much like a boy. This one is more masculine, but that does make Allie a bit less femme, less like a girl and more like a man in drag. Rereading the story, it mentions how skinny Ethan is, with a great ass. Perhaps a bit less muscle definition, less broad in the shoulders and limbs. The face is cute, with makeup doing a lot of the feminizing. The original's lips were a bit large for a man, the face kind of sweet. I don't know enough about how this program works to know what you can do with it, but the more detail, the better. Adding and removing body hair in the original did quite a bit to distinguish between Ethan/Allie. Things like that make for more fun when playing dress up. I'd love to see how creative you can be.

i loved the original avatar and still do. That being said, i am into whatever you do and however you do it. Your new avatar(s) have a certain je ne sais quoi that i suspect will become even more appealing over time. i think you are doing an absolutely femnomenal job! Keep up the amazing work. i really admire how your skill set is advancing with each iteration that you create. Where you plan to go with this is very exciting. i find it easy to imagine you having hundreds of subscribers eventually.
