February's print is finished and shipping soon!
I'm having trouble with my pink drum so I think I'm going to commission this one to be printed with a friend. I have been fighting my machine for months now so I just bought a new machine (a two drum machine!!), hopefully I don't have delays like this anymore!!! But for now I don't think I'll have my machine in time to properly work on this print and commissioning it seems like the best way to get these prints to you all without further delay!
Anyway, I am very excited about this print- the palette is much softer and cooler toned than most recent prints, and I love how the yellow creates such subtle browns combined with the pink and blue.
This print was originally my Through The Boughs comic cover for DSTLRY! I reworked the top and the owls in this print to make it a much more interesting single image, rather than empty at the top to leave space for the type.
I added a white layer that I kept on for each color and line layer, which I rarely do these days but it's perfect for snow! When I had forgotten to add snow to the top of the branches the owls are on I just added a white layer and then a blue layer on top of that. When creating a jpeg out of each layer it's a little tough to keep track of but it's WAY better than going through each layer and deleting the shape...I was just lazy enough and this was a great solution.
This one was inspired by drawing owls at The Drawing Club a few years ago...since then I seriously haven't been able to stop drawing owls and bird creatures...these are something between and owl and a curious little goblin.
The cut out shapes of this piece were especially fun- the snow gave me a great opportunity to play with sharp shapes in the negative space/ but smooth bubbly shapes in the composition.

I've been given the go-ahead to officially open up preorders for my batch of Dreaming in Color books! If you've been waiting for an art book then they're up in my shop now and will ship in April with a little doodle as a thank you for the wait & for the higher price UoU.
They're a little more expensive than the last batch because of tariffs and high shipping costs but I hope adding a little drawing will help make it worth it! Finally something I can control...drawing. lol.
This weekend! MoCCA!
This weekend I'll be in NYC at MoCCA Fest at Metropolitan Pavilion from 11-5 both saturday and sunday. I'll be signing books there as well if you're local- bring your book or your print and I'll sign it! MoCCA also has incredible publishing panels and lectures. Highly recommend going if you're local and interested in comics, book art, or any kind of narrative publishing at all.

More Added to my Shop!
I've also added several more prints and stickers to my shop- if you wanted anything you missed the discount code for patrons is ILOVEBUGS for 20% off! The <<--link there will automatically add the discount to your cart.
Two Towers large print is live, but patrons will get the small version later in April! A reminder, the next print I'll make is the Magic card Riso edition of my Maze's End card. That'll be for anyone signed up between March 2nd and April 1st!
Fairy Stickers are on their way for sticker patrons!
Here's what I'm sending>>>

Thanks so much, excited to send these out!!! <333
