LIFE UPDATE (sorry!)

Hey guys! Regular uploads will start again on Monday - this past month has been absolutely nuts for me, and I haven't been able to create videos to the same caliber that I want.

The thing is...I totally could have churned out videos at my normal once-a-week pace this past month, but that would have been totally to the detriment of my mental health, and also to the detriment of upcoming projects that I want to devote more of my attention to. I've been making YouTube videos for 13 years now, and I'm acutely aware of the possibility of burnout, so I slowed down this month to get back on track.

But never fear...cool things are in the works! To give you guys a sneak peak on videos that will be released in the next month or two...

Polyrhythmic juggling

24 hour gig vlog

Threshold of hearing pain

La la land (as reviewed by a jazz musician)

They're coming! They all take time, time which you guys here at Patreon provide for me. Thank you so much for your continued support...ever upward and onward!

No worries, I dig that high- quality content. I am a grade 6-12 music teacher and I have a program called "Theory Thursday" where we don't play at all. I sprinkle you in now and then. Our favorites have been "The Tritone" (yes, I have taught "the Devil's Music" and now my students know, well, maybe not), "The Slowest Music Possible" and "The Star Spangled Banner". (YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THEIR BRAINS OPEN UP.) This fall, I will be teaching composing around a cantus firmus. I will look over your channel for helpful videos to freshen my delivery. I love your work!

The video you posted 2 weeks ago about jazz diplomacy felt even from the audience's point of view like a bigger undertaking than your "normal" weekly videos. I think you deserve a break after that one. In the future you might consider taking a leaf out of 12tone's book (who took it out of Tom Scott's book) and schedule a month a year for guest videos. There's certainly no shortage of high quality music educators on YouTube that you could feature.
