Hey I think my Riso is FIXED which means I can PRINT PRINT PRINT to my heart's desire...which is truly all it wants.
I've been diligently working to get my Riso fixed, on the phone with my Riso tech and friend Robert Baxter several times now, who has helped me get my machine ready for press again. I engaged some friends to print with them, but I realized a BIG part of my journey as a printer and artist is being able to change the file while I'm printing and that meant hovering over their press in their area for a while and I just knew I could figure out what was wrong with the machine.
I ended up fixing the Riso this weekend (a temporary fix that should be good for a while, and I bought the part I would need to eventually fix!), finished the final digital mock up today and I'll be hopefully sharing my final Riso print with you all tomorrow.
Here's the full digital mock up of December's print (Patrons who paid Nov 2-Dec 1)! It'll look a lot different printed in Riso, with the blues looking a bit darker and the pinks looking a LOT more vibrant, so some things could significantly change after printing tomorrow, but I'm very excited to see how this super colorful print turns out with all it's gradients!

Here's what the color separations look like. This one's made with my favorite blue, fluorescent pink, and yellow combo.

I've also finished the sketch for January's print (Patrons who paid Dec 2-Jan1), which will be the first of a few Mamu & Anna concept art prints. These are my two longtime characters and I want to focus this year on making their story a reality again. I made two comics with these characters several years ago, as well as a very yellow print with demons and monsters surrounding them, and now I'm going to revisit their world here through the patreon print series! Not all prints going forward will be Mamu & Anna themed, but a few this year will be (so far LOTR Two Towers, some mythology prints tba, an Altadena/SoCal foothills love, my Maze's End Magic the Gathering card, and a stardew print are on the docket for this year).

December and January's stickers are also finished- here's what's coming for sticker patrons who paid Nov 2-Dec 1 and Dec 2-Jan 1!!

I'm also thinking of making a tote bag with this little witch reading a book, which I've been using as my shop header for a few months now. I really love her and hope to add her into a lot more of my work. I'll also be making a little print of this image when it's ready!
Anyway, wanted to share the update- December's final coming tomorrow!
xx natalie
