Commission 3 - Sypha - Flats
Added 2023-08-10 23:05:54 +0000 UTCI meant to do this on Monday, but I came down with a small bug and I took Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off to recover. Drawing in this style has been refreshing, especially in regards to inking and I want to take a moment to compare how I'm approaching Toph Heavy.
The Flats for Toph Heavy have been difficult because I decided to go with a sort of transparent sketchy inking style. The intent is to keep the life that is in a sketch, and go for something more... painterly. However, the linework is such that I have to individually quarantine lines by which colors they are to mitigate visual errors. The CSP Layer tab winds up looking like this
Don't get me wrong. I like the look. It just takes a while. I think for future projects I'm just going to ink in a more conventional way. I think my line work has improved anyhow.
