Animation progress, Caught Short: number 4?

This one is just basically finishing what I started yesterday and showing you the end result!

7 seconds of animation in a mere 6 - 8 hours of work! honestly, not bad going I think considering how well it's turned out! Still, oof. This is gonna take a looong time to make.

I have decided to call this toon "Caught Short" and will be calling it that going forward.

Girl, you must be working yourself to the bone! I/we hope you don't lose heart. The WIPs are fun to see whenever they appear - pace yourself. WIP it, Wip it Good!

Ai can fill between frames but it's kinda bad at it, I didn't like the results at least. There's consideration which goes into drawing in-between frames which an ai just doesn't have yet, kinda hard to explain.

When she rushes in it looks like she bangs her face on the door. I also thought she was pushed. The animation is great though. Very smooth. Good fall. Little Alice is so tiny!

Now I am curiouser. Wondering if you could use AI to generate the intermediate frames between the "poses" of the character. I asked the AI generator Dall-e to do just that using a couple of very rudimentary prompts. It succeeded in creating a 2-D character in two poses, one prone and the other, standing. Then I asked it to essentially animate the action from one image to the next. It more or less succeeded in creating 7 intermediate frames which animated the action. It was crude and approximate, but it was a very quick trial which I didn't bother to perfect. Its probably a waste of time as there is a learning curve to finesse some good results. The engine said that I could upload my images and it would do the animation, I could show you the results if you wanted.

It's supposed to be that she runs in recklessly trying to get to the stall because it's the men's loo, then slips in a yet undrawn puddle of pee, I guess I need to make that clearer somehow. This whole thing is 48 frames in length, each frame lasting 4/24ths of a second. Ignoring repeating frames, I drew the Alice 17 times and the door 11 times to make this animation

Oh, I see, she was pushed from behind by some unseen ???. That makes sense - I was wondering what was the cause of her fall. For all her 2-D-ness, little Alice looks quite life-like in this mini-scene. Good start. So, again curious, how many frames constitute this action from "peek in" to "flat on the floor"?
