They also have a take on a lazy river called the Puddles - perfect no notes.

2023-10-13 06:17:31 +0000 UTCThis was a good one. It brought back some old old memories, things I hadn't thought about in decades. I grew up in Gulf Breeze, FL. For three straight years, my youth football team had its end-of-season team party at the Holidome in Navarre Beach. As a kid (this is the late 80s), I remember thinking the "dome" was massive, when in fact it was only three or four stories tall. I also remember the pool being ridiculously chlorinated. So there was no mildew smell, just an inescapable, nose-singeing bleach sensation of chlorine. The pro move was the parents would reserve a first floor guestroom on party day. That way everyone had access to a real bathroom and the dads would have a place to watch the day's big football game while the kids swam. Fun fact about the Navarre Beach Holidome: The opening of Jaws 2 takes place in the hotel's atrium. If you don't think this little piece of Hollywood magic was my little town's calling card for the bulk of my elementary school years, then you don't know NW Florida. Thankfully, we'd have Emmitt Smith, Roy Jones Jr., and the Gulf Breeze UFO sightings (hilarious, Google it) enter the conversation as the 80s turned to the 90s. But prior to all of that, you'd be sure to hear "You know what move was filmed at the Holidome, don't you?" at least once a year.
