I grew up near a Sea World with a theater that showed these movies. I guess because of it’s location in the park and proximity to the penguin exhibit the theater stank like sweet, stinky, fishy bird crap, ocean, and popcorn. It was thematically very fitting when I saw this movie as a kid. However, when I went as an adult to see the condensed version of The Polar Express, it was by far my favorite so-bad-it’s-good experiences. Especially when the theater began spraying us down with penguin scented foam “snow”. More children screamed with terror during Polar Express than the Haunted Lighthouse IIRC.
