According to Rob McElhenney & Glenn Howerton, they made a lot of money selling the dick-towels. One thing you learn from their podcast is that Charlie Day has a terrible memory (it's brought up quite often on the podcast). Charlie did not remember the dick-towls being a successful venture. Rob & Glenn had to remind Charlie that it was successful. Then Charlie said he doesn't remember getting paid off the dick-towls. So, Rob & Glenn had to assure Charlie that he received checks from the venture. P.S. I never thought I would ever use the phrase "dick-towls" 6 times in a single paragraph.
