Your Suggestions for the Thieves’ Guild Release (JUNE 2020)

Wow, we’ve received a LOT of comments on this one! 

It’s at the same time very exciting and very frustrating!

It’s exciting to see your enthusiasm and all your very cool ideas.

And it’s frustrating because there is SO MUCH we could do but we can’t do all this in a single release. 

But then, why not expand on this and have another run at the Thieves, their enemies and their prey? Let us know what you think.

Many Races

So the most obvious thing that comes out of your comments is that you would like a multi race guild, which makes a lot of sense! 

Like Caesar Rahardjo says: “Since it is a guild, multi races characters will look good. And it will be like a preview for the patron, how every race looks like in Raging Heroes style.”

And Wesley McCarter adds: “I would like to see some fun race options. Human thief /rogue minis are a dime a dozen.” And he has a point. 

Omar Perez Perez says “It would also be nice to see different races united in a thieves' guild” and we completely agree

It looks obvious that the Catfolks is an option that a lot of you like. Like Gerald Valentine says, something like “a stealthy cat burglar type character” and Wallace H Gow IV, Joshua S. Murray, Carlos Sanchez, Lori McDonald, Ben Newman and Demonwombatofdoom seem to agree on this in one way or another.

Then a big guy seems mandatory too. Benial would like to see an Ogre, Lori McDonald would go for “Minotaur, orc, half-orc”, Clinton Deen would go for an orc thief/enforcer.

And then you suggested many other races, some that we don’t see that often, like the Kenku Bee Four suggested!

Can we do all this ? 

Well, let’s be realistic, we can’t. 

Creating so many races in one single package takes A LOT of work and much more miniatures than we can output in a single release.

But your answers were very inspiring and we have done our best to bring you a crew of thieves that are full of character, attitude and diversity.

It also obviously raised the question of creating MORE thieves to make the guild grow!

So maybe we should keep that option for a future release: Thieves’ Guild Volume 2

So what did we come up with ?

We are currently applying the final touches to each sculpt. You’ll see everything in detail in the next few days.

We worked hard to incorporate as much as we could from your suggestions, while keeping things homogenous as a group of miniatures. We would have loved to make the merchants, the city guards, the street urchins, but it was just too much. Each of these could have been a full release in themselves.

We’ve created characters from different races, but the work of creating many, many different anatomy for each race is very time consuming. So we’ve managed to create characters from about 10 different races which is pretty good considering the time we had! 

The great thing is, as the Patreon will move forward, we’ll have a bigger range of various anatomies to represent various races and we’ll be able to create even more diverse types of characters for each release if that is what you are looking for.

In our next post we’ll go into details into more of your suggestions about the various roles each member of the crew should have and how we worked with them to create this series of new characters. 

What we can say is that we are very excited with the result :)
