Rob Bottin designed the effects. The man is pretty much God tier for effects. He worked on the effects for so long he had severe dehydration and got very sick where he needed to go to the hospital. Yet this man didn't win an Academy Award for visual effects. It wasn't until decades later that he was given a special achievement Award for his work in film.

I think everyone needs to watch "The Thing" atleast once in their lives just because of how CRAZY of a movie it is. John Carpenter is a fricking GENIUS!! I love all of his movies. Also Devin your question about the dogs... So out there where it's really remote and hard to get around those dogs can survive in that atmosphere so they use them to run sled teams to get around. So it makes sense that they would have a pack of dogs on stand by to use for sled teams for whenever the need arises. ONCE AGAIN!!! 10/10 Dev. Thank you for the entertainment. I appreciate you bro.
