Cupbearer’s Goblet

This golden goblet is etched with decorative engravings and crusted with small rubies. This goblet detects and then automatically neutralizes the effects of any poisons or magical influences contained within any food or drink placed inside it. Additionally, the holder of the goblet can use it to transform any water inside of it into wine.

After the death of his good friend and beloved cupbearer, King Aristarchos could not bear to replace him with someone new. Instead, he commanded his staff wizard to build him a goblet which could detect poisons all on its own so that he could continue to drink with peace of mind. It took the wizard over a decade to craft the goblet, and King Aristarchos was assassinated in the meantime.
