Skye had training from ward and may. In season 1 we saw her being a quick study as she took down the weapon from quinn in 1x3 after ward showed her and by 1x11 she took down a security guard. So in the 5 or so months between 1x22 and now she has been training with may so it is not surprising that she can defend herself against 33. She is training with someone way better all the time so that is the best way to learn how to defend against and beat someone like that. She still lost and got hit in the face and was bleeding while 33 had nothing so it was not a easy fight for her. She just did not get taken down fast.
