It was a finesse bc what Jaime told about Brienne and Tarth was a lie. Its not called the Sapphire Isle bc that's where all the sapphires in Westeros come from. As soon as he saw dude believed him, he thought he could finesse him more. Thats where he messed up, but i dont think he would've tried if he knew they were representing the Boltons. Theyre too ruthless

Jaime is one of my favorite characters. I enjoy his complexity. He's not all bad but he isn't good either, he's a grey character and that's not a bad thing in GoT. The only thing he's done that I haven't forgiven him for is Bran and I don't like anyone making excuses for that. His redemption arch is the only redemption I think has worked. I don't care about Theon. The Hound's arch isn't necessarily redemptive. Cersei doesn't give a shit about redemption. Jaime actually does want some absolution for his wrongdoing. He has to atone for his actions and I look forward to see how he does in S8.

I like Jaime. He is the only character only this show who is redeemable. The only knock on him was that he killed the king he was sworn to protect but if he didn’t kill him Aerys would have burnt King’s Landing to the ground and everybody in it. He got scorn for it but it was the right thing to do in the end. Now he is cocky as shit and him getting his hand cut off humbled him. Every since then he has been trying the do the right thing. I’m afraid for him going to Winterfell because he is has to atone for pushing Bran out the window. So I wonder what’s doing to happen to him.
