My, how time flies!
It seems like this journey began only yesterday, but as of the release of this issue, we've been publishing Nintendo Force Magazine for over a decade! Over 10 years in the trenches, carrying the torch that Nintendo Power dropped when they ended their run in December 2012 -- and ensuring that coverage of Nintendo games in the printed magazine medium has remained constant and continuous all that while!
I want to take the opportunity here, right up front, to thank our tireless team! Without the unfailing dedication of our writers and artists for over 10 years, we wouldn't have made it even anywhere close to this major milestone. As the old wisdom states: If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. If I'd foolishly tried to tackle this whole magazine business as a solo project, I'm sure I would've run out of steam almost immediately! But with the whole great NF team working in tandem, we've been able to keep up our regular publishing rhythm of a new issue every two months for this entire past decade. (Even tossed an extra issue into two of those years, too!)
Our central feature this time, Ten Years of Nintendo Force, reflects back on our whole issue- publishing history up to this point, while also looking back on the journey Nintendo has taken as a company over that same time period. Can you believe the Wii U had just launched when we started, and now we're nearly six years deep into the life cycle of its much more successful successor? Time flies, I'm telling you!
Please enjoy this celebratory issue, kicking off NF Year #11!
Digital subscribers, download links will be delivered to your email this Wednesday, December 21. So keep an eye on your inbox!
Print subscribers, your issues are in production now and will be mailed within the next week. Because this production cycle is running into our print company's annual holiday break, there may be one extra day of delay before the issues get out the door -- but counterbalancing that is the fact that production has begun a little earlier than normal, so it should all work out to be about the same as usual. Most issues should arrive in early-to-mid January.
Extra thanks from me this time around, since we're hitting such a major milestone! 10 years is nothing to sneeze at! We're cooking up a few extra fun things for the year ahead to mark the moment too, so stay tuned for more information on that in the future. And go ahead and start looking forward to NF #64 as well! (That's always been a favorite number of Nintendo fans!)
