The Nintendo Force Video Expansion Begins!
Added 2017-02-15 17:36:58 +0000 UTCGreetings, Force fans! With Issue #26 complete, I've got a bit of time to breathe before diving into production of #27. So I kicked off our YouTube revival this morning!
Have a look at the first-ever Let's Play video from the Nintendo Force! In this inaugural bit of recorded gameplay, I take on the first stage of the newest Shovel Knight expansion, Specter of Torment. Watch as I try (and occasionally fail) to get used to Specter Knight's unique scythe-slashing jumps and wall-climbing abilities!
We've got lots of fun video projects in the works, as we've brought in some new video-focused contributors to create a spin-off NF Video Team to complement the regular NF Magazine crew. I won't post a Patreon alert here every time we upload new videos on the YouTube channel, but I will point out new ones from time to time. (Like when Breath of the Wild makes its way to me!)
This one's a testing of the waters! You can see some of our snazzy new video effects in action, as well as the pilot test of "Mii reactions Lucas" playing along with the gameplay. I'll be investing in a microphone soon, to be able to add commentary to Let's Play videos like this.
Let us know what you like and what you don't! The Mii placement may need some work with full-screen gameplay scenarios like this, as little old Mii ended up obscuring the action a bit this time. But hey, I think altogether this is pretty slick for a first effort, don't you think?

2017-02-21 11:21:26 +0000 UTCVery nice job! I love the Mii in the corner, although it would be better if he reacted with the various emotions available to Miis. Not sure if that's possible. The game looks fun too. One thing I loved about the old Nintendo Power magazine as a kid, was the section that included "Pro Tips" or cheat codes as were common in those days. Perhaps you could do a video where you pick a game and give some pro-tips for defeating certain parts.
