Added 2024-08-25 21:30:12 +0000 UTCApparently starting in November if you pledge to any Patreon creator through the app on an Apple device you will be charged 30% extra just as a "fuck you" tax.
The tax will NOT apply if you are already subscribed to one or multiple creators. The tax will only apply to you once you have pledge to someone new, or repledge to someone in November.
To AVOID the tax altogether. I'm told that if you instead pledge through any internet browser rather than the app, the tax will not be applied. I could be wrong about this But I'm just relaying what I've seen from other artists.
Update: Jay Naylor just posted to their Patreon about this situation and I have updated news. TL:DR Turns out it's not an extra 30% that apples taking like i thought. it's 30% Total from what I already make so they're essentially stealing from the creators rather than the supporters.
