For additional context, given their ages, "Sayonara" sounds sort of a too formal goodbye (students saying goodbye to their teachers for the day), or it could interpreted as a goodbye to someone you won't talk to for a long time or possibly ever. "Ja ne" (See ya) or what Momo said "mata ashita" suits them better as a more casual goodbye since they've formed a friendship (Which Ken hasn't fully grasped till now).
