Sanji's chivalrous pervert gags have definitely aged the worst out of any of the straw hats gags and character quirks. I guess the main gag of this scene is supposed to be that Sanji can't see that he and Absalom are just as bad as each other. I also don't like that it reduces Nami into the sleeping beauty trope, when usually she'd at least have the attitude and the quips to put them both in their place. She's basically just an object for the whole fight

Remember, a japanese person in 2006 or so wrote this, back then it was catered to mostly boys and the humor was way different. The same kind of thing happened with the trans people jokes around One Piece. It doesn´t do good for Sanjis character at all and is okey to point it out.

Of course everyone has some flaw or negative aspect to them, but Sanji's pervert humor is often just so exaggerated and overplayed that it's nearly impossible to ignore. It's truly the one and only downside to an otherwise fantastically written character.

But on a real note, the criticism is valid, his kind and chivalrous personality gets ruined by his perverted gag, so I just ignore it every time he does it. But the reaction was hilarious. Also, do you still plan on continuing with the Vinland Saga reactions?
