Although I loved the live action, I think it has some rough edges (since the production cost is probably so high, meaning that they can´t take forever for the east blue saga). For example Garps personality is nearly completeley different and it is redicilous that he isn´t able to catch them (you will know why when you watch the anime further). The whole Garp plotline isn´t good and also the plotline Echiiro Oda hesitated the most with implementing. Also Zoro is always that hardcore serious dude and always so edgy, yes he is also in the anime like that from time to time but it is always in contrast to his light heartedness. He also enjoys and laughs and smiles at strawhat shenanigans, that is what makes these serious scenes much more impactful. Ussop cames way too short for character development and his skillset isn´t shown yet but still they took him with them, made a lot more sense in the anime/manga than the live action.

2023-10-24 14:29:37 +0000 UTCThe reveal of this episode is one of those reveals that is useful because it can be dropped in at basically any point in the story for some easy shock value. Once piece is really long so there are lots of things like that that will probably change in the live action

2023-09-19 03:25:50 +0000 UTCThe way they revealed Garp being Luffy's Grandpa in the LA makes sense only because we are seeing more of Garp here than in the anime at this point in time. So far, we have a Vice-Admiral (Garp) going after an unknown pirate (Luffy) without an explanation as to why. Well this is why and it makes a good cliffhanger for the show to have Luffy reveal it to the audience. It's good but I still prefer the anime version lol

It was smart to bring Garp more into the spotlight here for people who didn't know the series already, and this is just an extra hook to add some intricacies to the story and keep people interested The reveal itself is better in the anime tho. Still good here! 😁

2023-09-18 02:36:22 +0000 UTCAlso idk where in the world they filmed Zoro's backstory but the setting is SO gorgeous, (41:39) the 2 servents were the Meowban Brothers from the anime I didn't want to start another reply but I hope you see this edit anyways but to answer your question about the reveal at the very end, personally I felt like it was ALMOST just like a throw-away line in the LA which is why I said you'd get more enjoyment from the reveal from the anime bc it is done in a much greater way but that's to be expected lol
