OPLA question~

I woke up to a bunch of messages asking me not to continue OPLA because of a spoiler in episode 3 or 4 that references something I haven’t reached in the anime yet. I wanted to ask you all, since I’ve only watched the first 2 episodes so far, is the spoiler minor enough that I’m fine to go ahead and watch it or do you all think I should avoid OPLA for now? I know it’s not my fault exactly but sorry if this messes with the OPLA reactions 🥲

Personally I disagree with patron The Bard. I think the information is a huge deal. When the reveal occurs in the anime, it's totally shocking! And it's a series memory still reminisced upon fondly by folks. Doing the reveal so soon in the Live Action serves two purposes: 1) Those experienced one piece fans who know the information are offered a new take and perspective into a character. 2) Casual watchers can quickly grab onto the twist to keep them engaged in the show. But I don't think you fall into the category of "casual fan"... I get the impression that you REALLY love this series, so imo I think you would have a much better experience learning the information through the anime first, then going back to the live action. On the other hand it would be a little interesting to see how someone perceives the reveal in 312-313 who got their reveal in the live action adaptation first. It's your open world journey, Katy! You're a fellow pirate looking for the One Piece just like us. Whichever path you decide, we're onboard.

If you really want to wait to watch OPLA until you see the mentioned spoiler in the anime, you would have to wait until episode 313. That would take you quite a while. I would argue to do what you enjoy now, one spoiler will not ruin the series for you. I know it sucks a little either way but just go for whatever you feel like.

Depending on how you view the series the spoiler is kind of big and is a pretty big surprise in the anime. However as others have said its not revealed until the end of Water 7 / Enies Lobby. So depending if you are fine getting to know now and not in the anime is up to you. IMO the anime reveal is a little more fun.

I guess it depends on how do you want your anime experience to be, it’s a pretty big spoiler imo but I can also see why people are saying it’s not a big deal. If you wanna have your anime viewing experience remain pure then I would say skip

Personally I don't think it's a big enough deal to stop watching the LA because of it. Yeah it's a spoiler and kind of """ruins""" a really cool scene in the anime but it's not like the location of the One Piece or any huge omega lore bomb. Its inportant for us big One Piece nerds to keep in mind the LA is also meant to be viewed by casual fans and non-fans, so if Oda thinks it's okay for this reveal to be in the LA then it's fair game in my book.

I said it a bunch in Discord in the context of the Live Action it's perfectly fine and makes sense why they did what they did, HOWEVER I think you would like the anime's reveal better that's all :)

The end of episode 4 does indeed contain a (lore drop) spoiler, but imo it's not that bad. The moment it spoils won't be completely spoiled, but half spoiled. And it'll be exciting to see it in the LA anyway. If you want to enjoy the hype and fun of the LA right now, you should continue watching it. I'd encourage you to do whatever you feel like doing :)

I've only seen up to episode 3 but I didn't notice any spoiler. I'll watch it again to make sure. But if there IS a spoiler I have a feeling I know what it might be, and if that's the case...then yeahh it's kind of a big one that you should avoid

I've only watched until episode 3 and there's no spoilers BUT from the comments on your last post, someone mentioned there's a spoiler thats revealed that you don't get until the post water 7 arc in the anime, and there's a lot of important information revealed at that point in the anime, so I think it's best to refrain from watching epsiode 4 and onwards.

I haven't got that far yet to answer that question unfortunately
