PLEASE READ!

Hi everyone.

I firstly want to apologise again for my inactivity over the last week. Everything currently happening with the widespread copyright strikes affecting anime reactors across Patreon and YouTube has caused me a monumental amount of stress and I've had to take a step back and weigh up my options.

Unfortunately, I don't have the best news to announce. This isn't a decision I have taken lightly, or ever seen myself making at all, but I think my time of creating anime reaction content needs to come to an end.

There's various reasons behind this and, as you can imagine, the stress around the copyright strikes was the biggest push towards this decision. Patreon in particular is at a serious risk right now, with a lot of reactors feeling hesitant to upload anything besides timer reactions, and things could be headed in a worse direction. Patreon is where I currently make most of my income as a full-time content creator, and although it's going to be very difficult for me to transition into other avenues, I can't go on allowing my Patreon and YouTube to grow, only for me to become more dependant on it than I already am, for this to happen again in future, which it very well could.

It absolutely breaks my heart to make this decision because not only have we gathered a nice community on here, but also on YouTube, and I also hire an editor, and of course I also have a huge passion for anime. I've put my heart and soul into growing these platforms for the last year, putting a lot of other things in my life on a backburner to prioritise my content and my growth and making this into a stable income, and for it to end like this feels heartbreaking and like a lot of hard work is being tossed into the trash due to the takedowns. I can honestly say I've cried myself dry of tears over this.

Huge kudos to any anime reactors who are fighting on through these really rough and uncertain times, but unfortunately I don't personally want to put myself through the financial and mental stress, as well as the ongoing anxious thought in the back of my mind of it ever happening again. I'd rather just move on while I still can and pursue other passions without growing a resentment towards anime due to all of this.

If you didn't already know, I'm also a Twitch streamer, and so over the coming week I will be transitioning this Patreon into one that is gaming focused to align with my streams and so that I can continue to pursue Patreon in a way that is safe for my content. I understand that this may not be to everyone's tastes and that most, if not all, of you are only here for anime. If you do want to stay, I will be revealing everything I have planned for this space shortly.

The anime reactions that are currently uploaded here on Patreon will stay over the next few months if you do want to catch up with them. I may remove these later down the line to ensure my Patreon stays safe from strikes, but I will try to keep everything anime related up for at least the next two months.

I'm so sorry to let you all down like this. Sadly, after weighing up all of my options and brainstorming over the last few weeks, this is ultimately the best decision for me, my mental health and my content moving forward. I'm very nervous for the near-future of my content, but I appreciate all of the support you've all given me up until this point. Thank you so much.

Such sad news. What kind of world do we live in where these studios hurt those who love their shows the most? Capitalism really is the enemy of happiness

Dang, that's a shame. Your reactions were some of the best around. I'll miss you simping over Zoro and Sanji, lol. But hopefully this decision can bring you more peace and stability in the future. If it's not too much trouble, would you mind continuing One Piece on your own? Maybe even switch to the manga if time is an issue. It's a rich and worthwhile journey even if you can't react anymore. I wish you luck in whatever you do next. Never give up!

Since you’re moving it to a gaming one, are you going to be uploading playthroughs or anything anywhere?

Derek

TY for the fun! I do hope you continue your One Piece journey on your own time and can update us on it ❤️

I'm so sorry for you. Other creators usually get their strikes removed but it can take time. Maybe just not worth it. I know you would of grown and eventually had over 100k subs on YT. It's fun watching with you. You are a lovely person and hope for the greatest happiness for you. Hope you still watch OP you can always review arcs of OP without showing the anime so you won't get strikes and eventually just pick up the Manga. Would be great to hear your thoughts and feelings on the series still.

man that's sad. It's difficult at times to connect with the content creator, but with you it's been super easy to engage and follow along. i wish you all the best for the future
