Just a very brief update

And a (belated) happy Halloween! Busy in the mines so I'll make this a bit short, but the final rounds of test builds went out 2 days ago and came back mostly clean (and what wasn't has been cleaned now). KpecT and I are currently sifting through all the images, selecting the best ones, fixing errors, etc. All together, it's 49k images after the first sorting that I did. We're making good progress on them, so it should be very, very soon now. I'll also be finishing the last on the trailer and some social media related updates, and then we're, thank god, finally there.

Copying from Discord, so if you already saw it there (or just don't want to read some ramblings), you can skip this message. The only update since is that I'm starting on the mentioned entering of the images into the game rn, so I'll know what the pace is like sometimes later today. The post was: Just a few things on the pace of the release overall. I know I've mentioned this before and I do apologise for repeating it again and again, but I have to mention it for my conscience's sake, tho don't worry, I'll post it in patreon probably and pin it here but then also not mention it again ever. But yeah having gone through my entire life doing very, very little work but now having the adderall and actually being able to put in good hours, I have a certain sense of imposter syndrome, so to clear my conscience as mentioned, I want to reiterate that I really, really am trying to get this finished, and I really am working as hard as I can to get it done. At the same time, I wouldn't blame a lot of you guys for thinking "okay but what's actually taking so fucking long". Clearly, even I completely underestimated the workload, and I'm sitting here looking at it every day. But to put some numbers to it (which I probably should have myself before committing to this in one go), it's probably going to come out at some 600 to 700 images - each image, on average, takes probably 1 hour, and that's probably a low estimate, with the low end being 15-20 minutes for a colour edit or the images where the only time spent on it was setting up the prompt and sorting through the results when generation was done, and the upper end being some of the h-scenes, where each image can easily take hours of work to tweak all the little details (which is partly my own fault for being too picky but yeah). All together, 600 hours = 25 days, which tracks pretty well with what I can see I've used for renting gpus, with 1475$ since July minus the idle upkeep coming out at around 3025 hours, so 125 days of gpus running constantly. Tho some of that time has been with just 1 card running "passively" in the background and only being checked in on now and then while I'm working in Unity, and some of it being that when I work 100% on art, I'll have 2 and sometimes 3 cards running at the same time So yeah I've been pretty delusional and I didn't realise just how much 600-700 images actually is, especially on top of all the other stuff we tried to do this release. Speaking of, just had sort of an epiphany about how long it'll take to get into the game too. Even if we look aside from the time it takes to cut things out of the background etc, at probably around 4 minutes for each image, with the low end being just those that can be plugged into previous actor components and the high end being adjusting the dialogue's "actors" to fit the new images/extended scenes, placing them at the correct dialogue nodes, making sure they're unlocked in the gallery too etc, that's 600 * 4 so 40 hours, so at the earliest it'll be released around 3 ish days from now.
