Wait, the “only UN recognised *countries* will have flag emojis” is kinda not true. For example, here are the flags for : Taiwan 🇹🇼 Kosovo🇽🇰 AND there are lots of flags for internal and external territories of various countries 🏴 🏴 🇮🇲 🇭🇰 🇲🇴 🇷🇪 . So, I find this ruling by unicode a bit arbitrary.
