This past Friday the Colonial Pipeline Company suffered a ransomware attack and shut down the entire pipeline. The attack does not seem to have affected control systems that run the pipeline itself, but the shutdown is meant to make sure that does not happen. Is this the infrastructure attack we’ve been warned of happening? And what can we do to reduce our risk in the future?
