January 2017 Monthly DTNS Update

Hello friends,

Welcome back to the DTNS Monthly Update available to all backers at the $1 a month level or more. Each month I briefly update you with what's going on at DTNS and highlight a few awesome patrons in the audience. Welcome to 2017! We really are glad to see you made it out of 2016 with us. 

TOM'S NOTE

We just got done with an experimental DTNS from Las Vegas and it went smashingly! My idea was to do a show from our normal place, fly out to Las Vegas to catch the CES Unveiled press event, then somehow hope bandwidth cooperated for a show in Vegas somewhere then back home for a later Thursday show. And it worked! The bandwidth at Mandalay Bay proved more than up to the task and HUGE thanks to Allison Sheridan, Raj Deut, Shannon Morse and Patrick Norton for taking time out of what is always a crazy busy scheduled to chat with us. Super props to Scott Johnson for running audio from Salt Lake and Roger for producing it all from LA. 

UPCOMING GUESTS

For the first time in awhile it seems like everybody's going to be coming in on regular days. The exceptions are Darren Kitchen will be out Friday the 13th. Triskaidekaphobia? Hard to say. But Jenn Cutter will be ably filling in. And Veronica is traveling on the 23rd so she'll probably be swapping with someone that week. 

CONTENT

Did I mention CES? CES was the big effort for the month so we're kind of catching our breath from that and the holiday specials.

However there’s no shortage of announcements expected in January

- Wednesday January 11, Norway begins shutting down FM broadcasts

- Thursday January 12, HTC has an event. Most likely a phone?

- Friday January 13th we get what we expect to be the final details on the Nintendo Switch.

LA (nee Santa Monica) APPEARANCE

On Wednesday January 11 I’ll be helping out Ryan Williams of the Influencer Economy podcast/book with an event at General Assembly in Santa Monica called “Launching your product, collaborating with your customers and build a thriving business.” Ryan wants to talk to me about how we run DTNS and the other shows I do and then do a workshop.
