2026-02-08 18:08:18 +0000 UTCin the argument next the incinerator lestat said "va te faire foutre" which basically means go fuck yourself. also this isn't necessarily a spoiler since they never actually explain it in the show but what you said about lestat dehumanizing people so he feels less bad about killing them is half right half wrong, he's only doing that for louis not himself, vampires in the tvc world generally don't struggle with empathy towards humans because they're aware they're above humans and that they're a food source, and yet they're also capable of falling in love with them if they're interesting or charming enough, it's an odd dynamic lol. throughout the show you'll constantly hear them talk about being damned and having no soul etc because vampirism in gothic media quite literally changes your perception of everything, your beliefs and morals are no longer the same and thus they don't use a human gauge to justify their actions. i've been into tvc since i was a kid and when the show came out i was baffled to see the outrage on twitter and people complaining that this isn't a healthy/normal love story, i completely forgot the damage twilight/vampire diaries etc... did to vampire media & how gothic vampirism wasn't the norm anymore lmao
