Concept Finalized, New Merch, Bust Painted! BTS #66
Added 2020-04-16 21:03:34 +0000 UTCWhat up, mini family?!
Let's start with the thing I think people are must looking forward to hearing about. Tatiana finished up the rough sketch for the concept art for my new swamp-elf mini! She's now refining all the details.

This is probably the 6th revision and I love it. The head being held by the hair and the nearby recently-used knife, the scale mail, the shortened antlers, it's all great. This guy also has a string of elf ears wrapped around his quiver because he takes them as trophies from his victims. We had it originally in the front, but it was obscuring too much of the torso and also I thought it would be a fun easter egg for people to find!
Since my wife is working with me, we decided to start fulfilling our own merchandise. We'll make some more money this way, we can sell it alongside my vampire miniature and future miniatures, and we can also sell whatever merchandise we want. We're not limited by what teespring offers.

Here are all the boxes of various merch items and shipping supplies. We're doing t-shirts, hoodies, patches, pins, and flat brim hats. I used to fulfill merchandise in the past on my own so we kind of know how this works. We also have a new design coming out with this release.

Yes, that is a recognizable character's decapitated head and yes it is bleeding the words "Paint more minis". \m/
Lastly, I finished up this bust for a commission. It was an experiment with texture. The video painting this mini will be all about the different ways you can get texture, whether it's wear and tear, stippling, applying paint with a sponge, etc.

That's all for now! PAINT MORE MINIS!

Well, tbh a swamp elf is agile and stealth.. I wouldn't agree with the scalemail since metal is clanging.. Seems beautiful don't get me wrong.. Just sharing a thought
2020-04-25 07:57:09 +0000 UTCThe concept looks fantastic Scott 👌. Glad you're doing texture as I already meant to ask about that. And the bust IS amazing. Looking forward to your vid.
2020-04-18 10:28:00 +0000 UTCThat bust is incredible!
2020-04-17 18:22:05 +0000 UTCWe'll look into it!
2020-04-17 12:34:25 +0000 UTCCutting mats are going to make a return, but not with the merch, in a different format I'm excited to talk about in the future!
2020-04-17 12:34:07 +0000 UTCSo are we getting Cutting Mats now that you ship yourself, Scott?
2020-04-17 07:43:11 +0000 UTCAny chance at a zip up hoodie come winter time? I'm not a huge fan of pull overs.
2020-04-17 05:57:26 +0000 UTCMan those goggles are awesome... they actually look transparent.. I zoomed way in on the pic just to make sure they weren't!!! wicked!
2020-04-17 00:36:11 +0000 UTCreally like the shirt design, and look forward to the video on texture
2020-04-17 00:11:58 +0000 UTCThanks for the kind words!
2020-04-16 23:06:15 +0000 UTCVery impressed with the detail work on the bust. I really like the leather straps (actually love the straps), facemask, and details on the meter. It's an interesting subject, but one that is substantially enhanced and elevated with your artistry. The owner will have a beautiful showpiece.

2020-04-16 22:40:59 +0000 UTCFirst and hopefully last time haha
2020-04-16 22:40:19 +0000 UTCOh no! If that ever happens again, let me know. I can send you a single hand for the cost of shipping. I have spare parts!
2020-04-16 22:32:55 +0000 UTCNice work Scott! The new graphic looks sick, definitely want it! Quick mini story for you. I was assembling the Dutchess, and lost her hand somehow (I have no idea, it was in my tray) - Fast forward 24hrs, I'm distraught, sore from crawling around my house on my hands and knees with a flashlight. I decide to order a 2nd Dutchess because an incomplete mini would haunt me. Hours later, my wife says "what's that?" And points to my chest. The hand had somehow attached itself to my sweater. I now own 2 Dutchesses - Couldn't be happier!
2020-04-16 21:48:45 +0000 UTCMERCH! New design is sick. Can't wait to see all the goods, and definitely looking forward to the texture vid.
