Conversions and Drazhar?! BTS #63

What up, mini family?!

This last week has been full of 100% hobbying. I've been painting my GD entry a lot. Even though GD isn't happening, I have time now to crank it out so I figured I'd finish it and have one in the chamber. Here's the current status:

I am truly hating painting this much white to the standard I am striving for. I am very ready to move on to other colors, but unfortunately white covers the biggest area with this scheme and when I start something I like to experience all the suffering up front so I don't have to deal with it later.

In the meantime, I've been collecting bits to create some Blood Knights, a unit from the Legions of Nagash, an Age of Sigmar army. For a box of 5 Blood Knights, you'll be spending a cool $100, so they are often kitbashed. I was very excited to find a few bits to put together that I haven't seen used for Blood Knights. Check it out!

The old chaos knights + the dark elf cold one knight bodies works really well. The types of heads I'll be using will swap out a lot, and the shields I'm using are from the "death upgrade sprue" set that you can buy on GW's site for $20. I also plan to not exclusively use GW products as well. I have a few heads from a different site that look great too, but might be a little too big for using straight up.

I might shave their heads down a little bit and see if I can stuff them in a helmet or something that I hollow out with a dremel. There are a few cool grave guard helmets that would look great with a vampire head inside of them as opposed to a skeleton. I'm exited!

That's all for now. PAINT MORE MINIS!

Sorry to post off topic - I can't find the discord link anywhere, can someone help me out?

Vampire heads! Those are rad. There definitely needs to be more vampire minis produced. I'm always on the lookout for good ones.

Those are just normal ol' brush strokes!

Scott, your painting is normally very smooth. Is the surface texture on the white bits (expecially the chest plates) a deliberate choice, or is it an artifact of the white paint you're working with?

Dear Dan, Your generosity is leaving me weeping from my eye holes in gratitude. Keep it up. Love Scott

Dear Scott, I am new but your skill is leaving me frothing at the mouth in jealousy. Keep it up. Love Dan
