Minor detail suggestion: The kind of nails that would be used would be wrought iron, so instead of being shiny with exposure, they would get darker and blacker, with that black leeching into the surrounding wood a little bit. The ones closer to the top would get some exposure that would lead to rust, as well, but a very dark rust. I'm glad to see you painting again! The technique videos are awesome, but its great to see the practical application, too.
