Minor correction to your comment, Prongs is a reference not to James' patronus form but the animal (stag) that he turns into as an animagus.

To clear up the confusion Steve had, they are drawn to misery and fear, so they will go after the person who has the most of both. But it's happiness and joy they feed off of, so they will suck out whatever happiness the person has. Steve, think of it this way. Despair and fear to a Dementor are like a delicious smell is to a predator. Happiness is food. Does that help? That's how I see it anyway. Oh, and there is something that is in the books, but never in the films. The Marauder's Map was made by Moony (Lupin), Wormtail (Peter Pettigrew), Pradfoot (Serius), and Prongs (James, Harry's father). Lupin's name is a reference to his being a werewolf, Wormtail is a reference to Peter's form as a rat, Pradfoot is Serius's dog name, and Prongs is a reference to James' Patronus when it takes on animal form as a stag. They made the map when they were kids. And yeah, something else that's not well explained in the movies, but it is clear in the books: the light-form of a Patronous is not a full-bodied one. The stronger and far more effective type is when it turns into an animal form, the way Harry's did when it became a stag. Harry, but the one Harry thought was his dad.

Lupin is one of my favorite characters. :) Glad you guys enjoyed this one better than the second one. I love all of them, but I know it's weird diving into them without any knowledge, especially when there's so many things that don't make sense at the time while watching. It makes me happy you guys are giving it a shot.
