Thank You for Everything - I will be back next week. Till then, I would love to hear your thoughts about the story. (PS: I haven't edited this post. Sorry)

Hello Everyone,

First and foremost, I am sorry that there is no chapter releasing today on our regular posting schedule. I wanted to take a small break for a week now that we finished phase 2 of the story. (I will be back on the regular next week, promise)

Instead, I wanted to hear your opinion on Phase 2 of the infinity saga. What did you think about it, what were the parts that you liked, what were the parts that you didn't like. Where could I have impoved, what are some plotholes that you want me to address. Or any other questions that you have for me. You can treat this as an AMA (ask me anything) of sorts. I promise to answer every comment in this thread.

Additionally, I wanted to share my journey while writing phase 2 of this story to you too. I have found phase 2 to be a more fun writing experience than phase 1 for the most part due to me straying away from the predetermined paths. I enjoyed phase 1 too, but there were many destiny events that I couldn't change. (Spoilers ahead for those that have not read the whole story so far)

The whole Maya arc was fun to write. Initially, I had planned for Maya to join Pepper in Stark Industries and then dissapear but having her turned into a villain, culminating to her working with Hydra and her death was a small but fun side plot. Her banter with Tony was especially a highlight for me.

Apart from that, in the iron man 3 arc, I did struggle a lot. I felt like, I had spent all of my plot development in the First Avengers Movie arc. As a consequence, I felt like there were many things that I had to set up. This caused a lot of dialogue heavy interactions in the first few chapters, but the story did pick up by the end of that arc.

The Thor Dark World arc, was my favourite arc in this phase. It felt face paced, with a good mix of heartfelt moments, action sequences, displays of magic, comedy, romance. A complete package. I know some people do not like my portrayal of Darcy, but I felt like she was the perfect candidate for my story. I love this arc, also because of how Harry and Natasha's love story develops too. There is time for their characters to breathe even though it was so fast paced.

The whole Loki mindscape scene was also fun to write. I got to describe how the mind stone corrupted Loki without him knowing about it. There was the scene with Ron and Hermione too. A small easter egg for the Harry Potter fans, but also a bit of world development for the future while exploring why Harry is in this world.

The Winter Soldier arc was a strange one. I think my inadequate writing skills actually hampered my ability to execute my vision for this arc. I wanted the Avengers to feel like Hydra is an insignificant antagonist for them, but somewhere that got lost. The first half of the arc felt it dragged on a little more than I would have liked. But by the end, it came out nice. Natasha and Steve running away from SHIELD was my highlight point. Also, the overkill fight scene where Hydra is super excited to fight but is easily defeated did it's job. I wanted it to feel a bit uncomfortable while reading it. Oh, and Natasha's speach to rally the hydra soldiers was also fun to write.

The hydra vs avengers arc... That arc evolved with every chapter on it's own. Initially, it had been a action heavy chapter, but having the slice of life and action sequence alternate chapter format was interesting to write as an alternate to a movie montage. By the end of it, I was more interested in writing the slice of life chapters than the action sequence chapters. I got to highlight some of the other minor characters of the story like the Barton Family, Pepper, Felicia, etc. It also allowed me to highlight how the world is feeling, for a more organic transition for civil war. Overall, a good world building chapter.

Lastly, the Ultron arc. Maybe because I have just finished this arc and how long it was, I still have not got my head around what I think about this arc. I do realise that the story followed the movie plot line heavily as compared to the other arcs, I still think that Ultron's initial plan was very solid and didn't need to change much. The interesting elements that I had writing this arcs were - 1) Harry lifting the hammer for the first time. For some reason, I felt that the chapter captured the essance of this story more than any other chapter that I have ever written. 2) Harry's nightmare, you all know what I am talking about. That chapter was heavy. 3) Harry vs hulk 2. The whole dagger thing was epic. 4) Natasha's Barton homestead chapter. A lot of character development in one chapter. 5) Harry vs Ultron in Seoul. 6) Battle of Sokovia, specifically Harry destroying Sokovia with Ginderwald's spell. - (Yes that's a plot hole. I just wanted to use that spell. I can't think about a reason why Harry knows that spell. He just does okay. I wanted to use that spell in the battle of new york. but it didn't make much sense then, so I had to wait for almost 1 year to write it. So please cut me some slack.)

And the last thing I loved writing in this arc was the Epilogue. I still don't know if I was able to deliver on the moment. I know the engagement was low-key but I think the wedding was more appropriate for these two. But I don't know what you thought about it. Was it worth 130 chapters?

In summary, I have enjoyed the writing process immensely because of you. Thank you for everything and I hope you will continue to support me for the last phase of the infinity saga and this story. Tentatively, these are the movies that I plan to include in the last phase of this story:

Arc 11: The Black Widow Movie arc - An introduction to Yelena

Arc 12: Civil War Arc - More Avengers vs Beuraucracy and human fear than Avenger vs Avenger

Arc 13: Dr Strange Arc - Harry vs Dormammu, cause vengance for the wizarding world and Yao

Arc 14: Thor Ragnarok/Slice of Life Arc- More a catchup arc to account for everything else happening in the MCU. The only plotline from the movie will be Hela getting free and Harry and Hela having an epic fight. Otherwise it's going to be more world building than anything else.

Arc 15: Inifinity Saga Arc - Thanos's invasion begins.

Arc 16: 5 years of Snap Arc - Yes this is going to happen. And I won't spoil it for you why it happens and what this arc is about. All you need to know is that this is Yelena's arc. I am writing it because Yelena is my favourite MCU character and she hasn't got the screen time that she deserves in this story. Blame Florance Pugh for being so good in that role for letting Thanos win in this story.

Arc 17: End Game Arc: The final battle with Thanos. I am inspired by the sonic movie where older Dr. Robotnic meets younger Dr. Robotnic. I still need to think about this, I don't know where I want to take it just yet.

Arc 18: Epilogue. Everyone's happy ending. Morgan, James, Severus* (Name may change later) and Lily being menace in general. Yelena spoiling all the kids. Tony's happy ending, Barton's happy ending, Thor's happy ending, Steve's Happy Ending, Vision, Wanda, Pietro, King T'Challa, Fury, Coulson, Hill, Felicia. Everyone that I can think of. And anyone that you want me to focus on. The Epilogue is all fan service you all.

Comments

I have planned for both Melina and Alexie to be in the Black Widow arc.

Sky Pheonix

I also want to say that the Thor dark world arc has been my favorite. It was truly unique and perfectly done in my opinion. I liked the tech from Asgard (with the weapons named), loved the spar between Natasha and Sif. But the whole arc was done amazingly.
