2024-11-16 00:55:18 +0000 UTCI absolutely adored seeing so many of my favorite characters again! Aiden and Jake being such good friends now warms my heart. Of course, I enjoyed seeing Ashley again and Connor. Everyone was just fantastic. The moments between Jake and Tom were amazing in this. The cute little moments and the date at the end? Swoon! The date was incredible. I loved that Tom got so giddy when Jake mentioned their own wedding. Gabby helping set the mood for them was incredible, too. She really is Tom's bestie 😂 She even went to help him get the piece of the cabin with the initials carved into them. Loved that it returned and Jake was able to piece it together. It was so symbolic ❤️ Disappointed that we didn't get to see the first conversation between Shawn and Jake though. I was hoping to see more of that, but I do appreciate that it seems like Jake hasn't totally forgiven him yet. It takes time to mend a relationship, especially if there wasn't a strong bond to begin with. It's so realistic and I wish the brothers well in their journey in becoming bigger supporters for each other. Overall, this spin-off was great! I loved seeing the characters outside of the competition setting and see what it was like in their personal lives. We got to see some moments we never would've gotten to see in the main show (Jake telling his dad off, Jake and Tom finding their careers, etc.). Seeing so many of them have happy endings was beautiful and it was nice to see how things worked out for the characters. I'm hoping this won't be the end of the spin-offs or these characters. I'd be a big fan of seeing more of their lives in the future!

Even though they didn't win All Stars, all the contestants who appeared in this spin off were the true winners in the end. Also, I love the surprise of Hunter and Ally being part of a video call and Connor coming in because they were not mentioned to appear.

It really does represent the emotional roller coaster these two have been on throughout the series. I also have to keep rewatching that last part. It NEVER snowed during those two seasons (excluding the fake snow used in episode 9 of Season 2). Since a majority of the contestants are Canadian, I figured Camp Tipiskaw would be in a state that was in close proximity to Canada, with weather fitting the timeline Jared revealed. Derek even revealed in the Season 1 premiere that Camp Tipiskaw had extreme heat waves. All this evidence pointed to California to me, but at this point, it’s honestly anyone’s guess what the hell Camp Tipiskaw’s state could be. 🤷♂️

My babies have come full circle and it has been the greatest pleasure of my DC viewing experience to see Tom and Jake navigate through trauma alone and together and fall in good old fashioned unconditional love. Thank you guys for helping me believe that love is possible for me and other survivors out there and I couldn't ask for a better ending to the spinoff series. Jake reunited with Shawn with the prospect of marrying Tom on the horizon. Lake found love herself on her own terms this time. Gabby remained awesome. Ellie achieved her goals after years of financial struggles. Ashley, Aiden, Lake, Connor, Lucia and Tom's mother returned among others. Miriam had the surprise birthday of a lifetime and the family she, Tom, Jake and so many others created proved that the true definition of family doesn't always come down to blood but to love. Love conquers all. Power to the trauma survivors. The wood carving Tom got and Jake fixed when Gabs the cat broke it was the most beautiful part of their love story. Both were broken and it was beautiful to see them pick up the pieces together and find one another. All that's left to say now for them is I DO. Thank you Odd Nation Cartoons for making us feel seen, to Jayce and Josh for putting a smile on my heart with their voice work and emotional storytelling and to everyone who had a hand in their creation and journey. All my love to you guys, I'm going to miss them so much but they got the happy ending they deserve and that's going to keep me going with this series after their gone. I love you Tom and Jake

Thank you Odd Nations Cartoons, The Artists, VA'S, Jayce and everyone involved in making this one of the best episodes ever. This show has helped me through tough times and I gotten a little to attached to them so seeing them leave was really hard for me. I really hope we can see them again because by the time Season 4 has ended, it will be almost a YEAR since the DCAS Finale happened and some characters were last seen there. I hope we can see a Jaiden and TomJake Double Date if we ever get a Season 2 of TomJake which I would literally watch! :D James, Ashley, Aiden, Tom and Jake: I am going to miss these characters the most they have been my comfort characters and my opinions never changed on them. James literally has helped me through tough times and knowing that we may never see him again is difficult to know. But James, Ashley, Aiden, Tom and Jake I love you guys you will forever be my favorites and I hope you will able to make a cameo someday because I can't stand the fact that the only times we will be able to see you again will be greetings. Love these five so much! :) This cast may be a memory now, but let's appreciate the times we were able to see them and remember the funny, emotional, romantic and wonderful scenes that Odd Nation Cartoons were able to make.

The summary of some of the episodes were a bit overhyped, such as Jake finding his purpose in life and confronting old wounds with Shawn. The summaries made it sound like they were gonna go into some of the deeper parts of their background stories and Shawn in particular alludes to a conversation that didn't happen on screen. Jake finding his way as a wedding planner just because Shawn commented about it was kinda... eh. it does make sense given he still looks up to his older brother. I personally would had loved it if he went for something more unexpected like Marine Biologist that he gave up on, or something less gay stereotypical. I'm happy for Jake and Tom nonetheless. This is also just a personal thing and many will likely disagree with or don't see it but many scenes feels pitched in a way that loses a bit of the essence of the characters. I can't put my finger on it exactly. But it felt a bit uncanny. I am excited for Season 2 if it happens. I hope we get to dig deeper into Tom and Jake's lives, personal lives, background and challenges as a couple. Thank you for a fantastic two part mini series (Staff Stories and TomJake)!

Ellie/Jake insulting each other as a way to show friendship is amusing. I liked seeing Shawn and Jake. I feel like there is still more story I want to know about their relationship, but I'm happy with the place they are in right now. On the subject... The threat Tom made to Shawn was hilarious, lol. I love Miriam! It's nice to think about how she went from having nearly no one before S1 to having a whole group of people there to celebrate her birthday with her in the present. I'm happy that Lake brought around her plus one. Even if we didn't get to see much of Lake, it was nice that she was included in the party. I didn't know Connor would be in the show! That made me happy. Aiden's appearance was also nice. I love seeing his friendship with Jake. We even had a small view of Hunter/Ally! Tom and Jake are very cute and sweet. Tom working hard to get him a carving, and the date at the camp was adorable. The heart and the nod to the scars... yeah, that made me emotional. It's so great to see them so happy. This episode made me feel so many emotions. I loved it. The writing and pacing was amazing. This was definitely my favorite of all four episodes. Since it was only said that anthology webisodes wouldn't continue, I hope it means we can still get S2 of TomJake and spin-offs with other past contestants. I don't want to say goodbye to any of the characters. This series just makes me want to see more stories with them.

For the longest time, “like” was a word I was VERY hesitant to use for Jake, even with his growing development throughout All Stars.. His callout against his father in episode 3 of this series is the moment that helped Jake officially win me over. He truly has come far and I’m honestly proud of the iconic trauma survivor. 🏆

A real treat seeing so many familiar faces and the epilogue displaying what the others are up to was fantastic. God, that sentimental music! 🎵 I knew Miriam was faking her heart attack. She’s too much of a badass to leave this early. Notice that Ellie and Gabby were magically in front of and BEHIND the desk during that scene. Clearly an animation error, but couldn’t resist mentioning. Nice to see Lake FINALLY having a lover and Anthony Stewart did a splendid job playing Shawn. Jackie was quite the badass. Circus performer my ass. Lol! It appears Tom’s a lifeguard now. It fits him well. I’m proud of Jake for finding his calling. Truly amazing that security guard didn’t see Gabby stick her leg out to trip him and that Tom failed to pick up on Jake’s very obvious surprise. 😏 My favorite part was the discreet threat Tom gave Shawn. Fuckin brilliant! It’s a damn shame there won’t be any more spinoffs, but at least these iconic characters left with a glorious bang! 9.7/10

2024-10-29 20:11:52 +0000 UTCNow this* is how you do a finale here folks, now for my review: -It was so fun seeing Aiden Ashley and Connor again. But what shocked me the most was that Lake got a girlfriend, YES! Mary Anne seems so cool, and I'm honestly so happy for Lake. -Shawn surprised me this episode with how honest and respectful he was with Jake, not trying to pry his way back into his life and acknowledging that their parents were simply toxic. But for real though, he hurts Jake again, and Tom will rip this man to shreds. -I'm proud of how modest Ellie was this episode with Jake and the others, not trying to make Miriam's birthday about her career, which skyrocketed. I love the touch ONC made with how some of her designs are the designs of character greetings. -Miriam honestly deserves all the love she gets with her gentle soul and fighter spirit. Seriously though, how the heck did she fool Ellie again with the same* death scare, I honestly laughed so hard seeing Ellie pout at the comment. Lucía is such a good friend to Tom, and I'm honestly so happy that we got to see Lucía in this series, she was such a good character! -Speaking of good friends, Gabby is a peak friend to Tom, going to such lengths to help him get that present for Jake and even helping with their date at Camp Tipiskaw, even if she kind of fumbled a bit, Lol. -Tom is a forever sweetheart going to such lengths to get a present for Jake, setting up that date at the camp, and even going on the path to recovery with his new therapist. And Tom's new career being a lifeguard, I love* it. Seeing Tom basically get beat down by Jackie (Tom's mother) saying how Aiden was his favorite and that Lucía thought Jackie was much cooler, I just wanted to go in there and hug the guy. And then that ending where he practically fainted from shock was honestly so cute. Big guy, big heart. -And lastly, Jake. Jake brought all the stops this episode, trying to get to know Ellie more, greeting Mary Anne with open arms, making amends with Shawn, and finally finding a suitable career in life...A WEEDING PLANNER! He definitely has the skills of a great wedding planner so Im proud of how far Jake has come. And then around the end with Jake asking Tom for a "better gift" and proposing the idea of his and Tom's wedding, honestly, two of Jake's finest moments if I might add. I was a bit hesitant with how this series would go, but I can definitely say now that it was a resounding success! 10/10 episode, and a 9.5/10 overall.
