I really liked this episode. "Falling for you is the one thing I did right." is such a cute line from Tom. Also that dream sequence is interesting, since it reveals some hints about Tom's past and a random theory popped in my head. Obviously Tom is conflating multiple memories together especially his failures from being a spy. One very interesting line from the dream is when Gabby says "Be quiet, Eagle Eye. It's bait." Eagle Eye was probably Tom's code name, so he was probably ordered to just observe a situation where someone of importance to Tom was being used as bait to lure out the enemy. I imagine that Tom, being such a kind-hearted and protective guy, wasn't able to sit back and just watch, and interfered with the situation resulting in him getting caught.

I'm probably bitter about this one episode because I think we really didn't need to see how Tom was behaving after the 1st season. We're not stupid and All Stars gave us enough to imagine how it looked like. And even though I don't like Jake and Tom as a couple and I'd rather see spinoff about somebody else, I wouldn't mind if it was done better. Obviously, it's my opinion about the first episode and there's a chance I might actually like the rest of the series. And you're right, Jade, LGTB community is huge here and I'm also a part of it but I wish LGBT storylines were written to be good and engaging, not just for views. Tom's boy toy, you're also right, I didn't think about it writing my comment. However, it's still to little.

So we saw over 10 episodes of Jake-Tom drama just to get an episode about Tom's communication issue that we've already knew about. That didn't add anything new to Tom's character. I'm also wondering why them? I think there were much more characters that needed more focus than Jake and Tom that had enough screen time already.

Then, typical Riya behaved like a bitch by using Alec to hurt Connor. She didn’t even care that he got eliminated in episode 16. I still ship them romantically, but FAR less than I used to

I’m unfortunately pretty late, but it was an episode :) Some people in the comments are confused about the dream Tom had, with Aiden in it considering this was right before All Stars… honestly, I feel like it was “foreshadowing” about the random love triangle between Tom, Jake, and Aiden. Also, let’s talk about that ending… Gabby called Tom, and apparently the call didn’t seem good… at least from his reaction. I’m curious about that, considering I’m into Gabellie more than TomJake. This isn’t anything related to the episode, but what’s your guys’s opinion on Alec x Riya? It’s definitely early and middle season Aleriya that I like… definitely one of my favorite ships. I’m glad we got to see Tom’s pov/flashback on what he was going through. I always felt he going through something after All stars which is why I didn’t understand why he was villainized so much. Literally Lucy said the same thing. He just needed space and clearly time to heal it’s not like he was ignoring Jake’s calls on purpose. But also seeing Jake’s parents basically disown him was honestly sad & heartbreaking. So that means he was in the closet that whole time up until he met Tom. And I honestly don’t blame him. I agree with your point. Ellie even directly says Jake isn't on there team and unless Toms can dream the future. It doesn't make sense that he would know who all was on team Cyan with him before it even happened. Though cheasy and very much a plot hole, I will admit I don't mind the forced Aiden cameo though honestly. A funny thing I noticed is them showing flashbacks to Tom and Jake season 1 showed so much of there chemistry and then having actual moments together. As much as I'm excited to see Trevor and Dereks development as a couple, I do find it funny that all there flashbacks were essentially just the two talking to the camera lol

Now just hear me out first haha. I have never really been a Jake fan, I found him annoying yet tolerable in season 1 and in all stars more often than not he just pissed me off and became one of my least favorite characters in the season. Just the little bit we see in this episode of him made me far more understanding to why he is the way he is. I wouldn't go as far as saying I like him yet, but if these next 3 episodes keep up this pace, then I can actually see odd nations making him finally grow on me. As usual though I adore Tom, he continues being my favorite dorky himbo and I loved seeing a more emotional side to him. The only critiques I have on this otherwise stellar episode was the dialogue before the two started kissing at the end felt a little too cheesy for me and the fact that Aiden was in his dream. A dream he had before all stars took place and was clearly on team cyan in it. Unless Tom has a gifted ability to see the future, I don't think it makes much sense. Even with those two nitpicks, it doesn't detract from an otherwise near perfect episode.

Awesome episode. Jayce really did a great job in both the voice acting and the writing. It was great to see his perspective. It also improves Jake character for me. A common complain his detractors had was that he leached of Miriam's money. I never held this against him and always liked him, but I did sort of see it as a bit of an issue, but for most of the 2 years between seasons Jake was with his parents and only called Miriam for help when he couldn't take it anymore. I feel sad for what he had to endure but I'm happy he is on a better place now. Also 2 funny things that happened for me. When Tom told Gabs to get off the bag I thought for a second that the brown thing was a huge s**t she took nearly as large as her entire body. Secondly, at the end it slmost seemed like Lucia transformed into Jake since the lips almost synched and I got jumpscared for a second. Anyway, really excited for the next episode. This wasn't even my most anticipated episode and it completely blew me away.

That could definitely be but I feel like that that’d be so weird that Tom viewed Aiden as another Jake before even meeting him and then befriending him later on, especially with the whole Jake being jealous of Aiden thing in AS 😭 and it seemed more like an oversight than trying to intentionally squeeze in a popular character. But it is what it is I suppose, the world may never know.

My theory is that Tom subconsciously viewed Aiden as another Jake. After all, Aiden and Jake are kind of like counterparts to each other. In a meta-sense, the creators probably wanted to have an excuse to squeeze Aiden into the episode, since he’s one of their favorite characters.

Ok so the more I think about it, the more I’m confused about that first dream scene. It clearly takes place pre all stars cuz Tom wakes up to a message from Jake and he looks all sad. But the nightmare not only has Aiden, but it seems like they’re all on Cyan team as well based on Ellie’s comment about Jake not being on their team and then having their all stars designs. And even if Tom knew of Aiden through watching season 2, he wouldn’t have any reason to dream about him as they’d never met.

I was confused by that too. Maybe the beginning of this episode takes place after Season 2 instead of immediately after Season One. Still weird why Aiden would be in the dream. Maybe a subtle way of saying that Tom would have liked to be teammates with Aiden, or actually DOES envision Aiden as a Jake placeholder. At least at first.

Nice episode. Great way to open the series. Little weird how the end credits reused the roles in the last Staff Stories episode. Cheesy as it was, there was a good amount of heartwarming and tragic moments in this episode. I enjoyed the cameos of Kristal, Jensen, Ellie, Gabby, Aiden, James, and Ashley. Totally knew Tom would return to the table for that donut. I guess the speculations are true: Jake’s parents are queer phobic. Poor guy. I can’t wait to see them in episode 3. Looks like Jake and Tom are living together. Sweet. The final scene appears to be a sequel hook to episode 2. Nice to see some serialization happening here. Lucia was the best part of the episode. I totally thought she’d be a hardass that would warm up to Tom. It was great to see her be cool from the get-go. She totally carried this episode. Also, Gabs is awesome! 9.9/10

I think one of the advantages of disventure camp over total drama is that even though total drama’s animation and voice acting is top notch professional, disventure camp tries to tell a story. Whether or not people like the story (season 3’s ending was controversial even tho I’ve grown to like it) it always tells a story. Having different mini series about various characters is a great way to see more of the characters we love outside of the game and actually getting to know more about them as people. Hopefully we get more mini series’s in the future.

Thoughts: POWER. TO. THE. TRAUMA. SURVIVORS. I'm crying and I'm in love right now. Tom and Jake to me are the true Disventure Camp love story and this series proves that even more and its only the first episode. Lucia to me was like Tom's version of Miriam with the understanding and support system and she is equally as awesome and queen too. I hope I get to see more of her later whether it's in this series or as a cameo in the main series. Tom and Jake today, I see a lot of me and my partner in, we've both gone through trauma and anxiety that's left us cynical against the world or finding love again, but we took that chance and we help each other through our scars every day and the final scene in bed is almost autobiographical to me. Odd Nation Cartoons, you are geniuses and expert writers and I love this new series already. I can't wait to see what happens next and who's in danger from Gabby's call. I need to dry my eyes now but this was BEAUTIFUL. That's all there is to it.

Alright, time for my review, SPOILERS AHEAD! -First off, Lucía was everything I could've hoped for, she was so supportive yet so real, great character -So the reason for the episode being called "Eagle Eye" was because that was Tom's codename back when he was a spy, and that dream was so creepy, like wtf? -So the cat turned out to be a stray up a tree, it was so cuuute -Honestly, this episode made me see Tom a bit more, seeing how he was still kicking himself even seeing everything. -One clip I noticed though, when Tom was spying on Jake via the window, Tom was in his All-Star outfit, yet he was originally in hid pajamas, may want to fix that. -Honestly it was adorable to see Tom and Jake finally reconcile, but from the look on Jake's face hearing what Gabby said, I think this next episode is going to be the best out of the four, I CANT WAIT!

I assume that phone call was about a double date that Tom and Gabby planned during their time at the losers motel and Jake had no idea

My theory is that Tom subconsciously viewed Aiden as another Jake. After all, Aiden and Jake are kind of like counterparts to each other. In a meta-sense, the creators probably wanted to have an excuse to squeeze Aiden into the episode, since he’s one of their favorite characters.

I suppose that’s true, but it seemed like the intention of having Aiden there was because he’s close to Tom, not because Tom saw him on TV. But I suppose it’s the only reasonable explanation given the timeline of events.
