Enjoyed listening to ‘The Severance Podcast’ as Jemma and I did a rewatch of the first season.
Stand-out albums I had on rotation this month: Jack White - No Name, Gordie Greep - The New Sound, Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
I donated this month to UNRWA. If you’re interested and have the means I encourage you to do the same. Free Palestine.

From JPC:
Hey Riddiots,
I have a bad habit of buying games when there is a Steam sale and then never playing them so I’m trying to play the ones I have. To that end, I started playing Space Marine II a few weeks ago. I never played the first one but I do have a a soft spot for 40k ever since I played the Rogue Trader tabletop rpg in college (I also bought Rogue Trader on Steam sale but haven’t cracked into it yet). Anyway, Space Marine is fine but it made me want to get into the 40k lore so I made the mistake of starting to read some of the novels. I burned through the first 6 Gaunt’s Ghost books pretty quickly and if any of you are 40k perverts, I’d love to know what to read next. Anthony Burch told me there are 300+ Horus Heresy books so I definitley wont be reading them all.
Oh, but I was supposed to be talking about games. I just got back from vacation so I had a lot of airport time to play Minishoot Adventures and Hereoes of Hammerfall II and they are both a ton of fun.
Maybe see some of you on the JoCo Cruise!

2025-02-06 17:12:13 +0000 UTCLove that Cocteau Twins album! A song from the same era that is just transcendent is Mizake the Mizan, technically a b-side but so not a b-side. From the same single is Watchlar which I also highly recommend, kind of funky...

2025-02-06 03:16:52 +0000 UTCThe Ciaphas Cane novels are pretty fun. They do get a little bit samey, but they're a fun easy read regardless. As others have said, anything by Abnett is great. The Soul Drinker series is pretty interesting, it follows a chapter of Space Marines that are renegades but view themselves as loyal.

2025-02-06 00:50:34 +0000 UTCMy husband is such a 40k pervert that he wrote several of the 2010's 40k RPGs for Fantasy Flight before they laid off their entire RPG staff. Anyhoo, he also recommends Eisenhorn.

2025-02-06 00:04:40 +0000 UTCAs a nercon Pervert The infinite and the Divine is a masterpiece, I genuinely think about several moments from that book at least once a week and have encouraged non 40K people to read it, they never do, but I encourage it!

2025-02-05 22:36:39 +0000 UTCHello, 40k pervert here. Anything written by Dan Abnett is amazing, try his Eisenhorn trilogy starting with the book XENOS, tied to that series is the Ravenor and Bequin books that are also amazing (Bequin series isn’t finished yet and won’t be for a while though) Stand alones I liked from him are Double Eagle, (airplanes in 40k) and Brothers of the Snake (space marines who aren’t mary sues) Besides anything and everything Abnett. Try the Infinite and the Divine, probably the closest thing to a warhammer sitcom comedy and it’s just plain great And finally I must condemn you to trying the minis, Painting and building them is extremely accessible now with press fit minis and Contrast paints Buy a Killteam box that looks cool and never even play the game just be happy they are so pretty on your shelf your wallet will regret it but you will not
