All In-Game Benefits Will Move To VRChat Creator Economy On December 5th
Added 2024-10-18 21:51:44 +0000 UTCAfter offering Patreon exclusive vehicles for the last 3 years and supporter wall names ever since the launch of my memberships, the time has come to fully move all in-game benefits over to the VRChat Creator Economy on December 5th.
Patreon will still exist for supporters interested in behind the scenes content as well as Unity Editor Extensions and Udon Prefabs. The goal of this move is to turn Patreon into a place for enthusiasts and other creators, while VRChat Creator Economy offers a better way to purchase in-game content within VRChat.
The decision to discontinue Patreon in-game benefits wasn't made lightly - it was a process of over a year of careful consideration and I firmly stand behind it, as I believe it to be the best move forward for both myself as a creator and all of you as supporters.
Active supporters from October will receive their benefits normally for November. On November 1st all in-game benefits will be delisted from tier descriptions and anyone who signs up during November will not be able to receive in-game Patreon benefits anymore.
Active supporters who do not wish to continue to support without receiving in-game benefits should cancel their membership by the end of November.
I want to thank everyone who has supported my work on Patreon throughout this time as I've experimented with monetizing my VRChat content, and I'm excited to be able to provide more exciting content for everyone to enjoy with the help of Creator Economy!

I'm really looking forward to the future where both of these platforms serve their own purposes, allowing me to spend more time doing what really matters, which is creating the content everyone enjoys and developing the tools to help other creators do the same. Having everyone (players and creators) share the same membership on Patreon over the past years has made it extremely difficult for me to maintain the community and provide benefits which would be suitable for the majority and worth it to produce, and this new separated monetization model allows me to start fresh with casual in-game purchases taking place exclusively inside VRChat, while all of the talk about tech, deep dives into the development and sharing of knowledge and tools can happen inside Patreon.
