PSA: Large Number of In-Game Benefits Missing Due to Typos in Supporter Form Submissions

It should be clarified that there is no official link between Patreon and VRChat, meaning that upon joining my Patreon, there is no way for VRChat worlds to detect you becoming a Patreon supporter without you providing your information manually.

The reward distribution is an automated process and if a single character in your provided information is incorrect, the in-game benefits cannot be delivered.

Typo #1 - Email

In the Patreon supporter information form you have to provide an email that matches your Patreon account. A large number of form submissions have been detected with no connection to existing Patreon accounts, as well as very close matches (1-2 character difference).

If you are currently missing your in-game benefits, make sure to double check your supporter form submission for email typos and make sure it matches the one you used to sign up to Patreon.

Typo #2 - VRChat Display Name

In the Patreon supporter information form you have to provide your current VRChat in-game name (a.k.a. "DisplayName"), this is the topmost name presented in the VRChat home website and in VRChat.

When you choose your name for VRChat, your display name gets sanitized by VRChat and special characters get converted to similar lookalikes, making your submitted information invalid for receiving in-game benefits if you provide it in the original intended format instead of the sanitized display name.

If you have special characters in your VRChat display name, COPY AND PASTE YOUR NAME FROM THE VRCHAT HOME WEBSITE when filling the supporter information form, please do not attempt to type it.
