The North pushes down, absorbing the upper tip of the Heartland, and coalescing into several "temple states."
The middle heartland sees the worst of the fighting, and eventually settles on a status quo of a bunch of little, independant city states. Many cities in the middle heartland have their hatcheries smashed and are destroyed for good.
The south tip of the heartland stays united. More of an actual republic than the federation that came before it, much smaller, and much less powerful.
Finally, as the Federation Falls, its leadership evacuates to the stone forest, creating a little beacon of Family influence there. They never recapture control of The Shell, and eventually resort to piracy.
Duhr mostly stays within its own borders, although they take the opporunity to clear out the Family outposts and infrastructure immediately around them.
