I think that the opening oner fight scene works fantastically conceptually. During the scene we keep moving to Foggy and hearing his heart so that every second we spend in the oner it’s a second Foggy’s life is still in the balance. It’s a second that the ambulance hasn’t arrived. Because there’s no cuts there’s not moment we can think ‘maybe Foggy is saved off screen.

She’s one of Matt’s original love interests, his third major one after Karen Page and Black Widow, lasting a solid 94 issues. The comics version was a very different character being the daughter of a CEO who took over his company when he was killed. Eventually Matt strong armed her into selling her company so that she would only have him to rely on and accept his marriage proposal. Eventually their relationship deteriorated and she killed herself. Second is a two part reference to the comic run by Mark Waid. First is Kristen who is Matt’s legal partner and friend. Second is that comic run had Matt and Kristen go to San Francisco where Matt once practiced law when he dated Black Widow which is where Karen currently lives in the show. Fun fact about Mark Waid’s run is that he wrote the book because he wanted to write a Daredevil book that “didn’t make [Mark] depressed to read.”
