2024-11-19 14:00:20 +0000 UTC#SundayRundown I want to point out something that the show does incredibly well, and should be lauded and studied in film school. That being how well Arcane 'Shows' and doesn't 'Tell'. I've gone back and re-watched these last couple batches of episodes and the slight details and clues that you catch on another viewing kind of put things into perspective. The big one I've noticed is Jinx basically being a model for depression. The huge clash in episode 3 was meant to be her big send off. Jinx was supposed to die, SHE was the last remaining member of her family she wanted to get rid of. When Isha saved her, she stopped being Jinx, and was basically being whoever Isha needed her to be. Because that girl was now the one bright spot in her life (to the point where her little fort in Jinx's hideout is the only light source and noticeably brightens up the area). If you look back, you can also look at Jinx's face whenever she's pinned down or someone is standing over her. Against Vi, she seemed accepting of her death, waiting for her sister to bash her skull in. When Warwick has her within his claws, she seems resolute in her death as she was able to get Isha out of there. Later, she's almost thrashing to stay alive, now that she's found something to keep living for. Overall, it's a great visual showcase for Jinx's mental health and I cannot wait for Act 3 to drop.
