Aquaman and Arthur and still having their problems with this mystery past ruler, Conner is still trying to get through wherever he is and BB is still pushing people away here in his grief and been a total jerk at M'gann's intervention but he HAS to go see Black Canary for his therapy counseling as Black Lightning made mandatory or he's out for good.

On my way into the comments to say just this. You guys saw the knife at the beginning of this season of Buffy. The Bringers were killing potentials with it. The First snuck a knife into the prison to get rid of the Slayer.

Yes, Charisma Carpenter was very prego at this point and Joss was pissed about her choice in keeping the baby, hence the bad writing in regard to her character this season. He "had" to change a lot of about this season because of it (her being pregnant) and was very very petty about it.

They way it really felt like a spa treatment watching Faith put Connor into his place.
At the same time, Dawn was trying to translate Sumerian texts for the group. And people dare compare them and how annoying they are.

That funky looking dagger the woman in the prison had when she attacked Faith was indeed a "Bringer knife" that the Bringers in Buffy used to kill off potential slayers.
Wasn't it great to see Faith again!! Yay!! The way she put Connor down a notch was everyting. She really made this episode...except for that SUPER-icky ending with Fake-Cordelia of course.

we 100% heard the loophole: demon power and buffy didnt want it. she is no cordy. "be part demon AND keep my powers with NO splitting headaches? SIGN ME UP!". sidenote: i thought it was obvious (rather stated or hinted at) from previous seasons that buffy's powers are demonic based. if not, i just assumed it. specific set of powers and skills to specifically fight demons, plus who else would they draw the power from to give to the first slayer?

#sundayrundown (buffy)
So the reason buffy didnt want to accept the extra power is because it is rooted in darkness. The 3 men in the flashback pretty much took a random girl against her will and chained her to the earth and forced this darkness on her to fight demons. and then tried to do the same thing to buffy against her will. If she accepted, there would also be a chance of her changing who she is as a person which would be a big risk. Its not like an anime where you're just guaranteed a power up lol
In regards to the slayer line, sometimes a potential slayer can be determined before they are chosen. In this case they often get trained by a watcher in case they are ever called upon. There are also cases where just a random girl gets chosen (like buffy who was just in high school). Cases like these, the watcher gets assigned after they are chosen and gain their power.
Also, just noting most slayers dont live long in this line of work. Most only last a couple years before they end up being killed. Buffy is an exception and has lasted longer due to her friends and support system. In fact, one of the first things evil Spike says to her in S2 when he first comes to town is "a slayer with friends and family, that sure wasnt in the brochure". That's after Joyce hits him in the head with the axe :)

#SundayRundown (Young Justice) - 1. Rana's reaction to Superboy being half human and being Lex's son was probably one of my favorite reactions to that scene! (okay, close your ears or tone out Rana lol) 2. Certain subsections of the fanbase felt the Beast Boy/Gar's depression arc took too long and some felt it should've been wrapped up in a isolated episode, my retort to that is simply, that's unrealistic. This show regularly weaves in reality with the supernatural world of heroes and villains. We've seen characters struggle emotionally and mentally over these 4 seasons and it was never settled "quickly". Whether it was M'Gann, Black Lightning, Brion & Terra or Aqualad, we've seen depression, abuse and struggle. Gar's resistance, depression and PTSD in relation to multiple family and friends dying since he was a child has been referenced multiple times and now, as the show stated, reached a breaking point. It's a frustrating, emotional and realistic take on the stages of grief people deal with, ontop of being heroes..

Remember what the 1st slayer said to Buffy the 1st time they met: No friends, just kill. Back in season 5, Dracula pointed out that the slayer power was rooted in darkness.
If Buffy had accepted that extra power, she'd have become a killing machine instead of a caring leader.
The message of the show has always been that Buffy's friends and family are her best asset (Spike pointed it out in the Yoko factor). The Scoobies have always been there for her and have help her out in many ways. Case in point, she comes back from the past thanks to the combined efforts of Willow, Anya, Kennedy, Spike and even Dawn!

Nah. Romantic relationship was the wrong way to go for them. It was the easy call and Whedon wanted to stress that men and women could be close friends who understand each other with no hint of romance. It’s part of why he gave Clint a family and made Natasha a close family friend. Even Laura, his wife, loved her.

It's funny because Widow and Hawkeye were a couple in the comics. It also would have made more sense than her and the Hulk. And the last fight between them would have had an even greater impact.

#SUNDAYRUNDOWN young justice the depression arc with beast boy is brutal, it’s so frustrating to see but that’s just because of how realistic it is. It really can feel like a hopeless endeavor trying to help someone who doesn’t want any help, they had to go to extremes to get him to see someone about what he’s going through. Also the call back to brion man I feel so bad for him too, he’s back home being manipulated so does he even know what happened did anyone tell him about superboy?

#SundayRundown (Angel)
The woman who tried to kill Faith was hired by the First. You see that she has the same knife as the one that the Bringers used to kill the potential slayers.
The scene with Wesley going to Faith to help “compromised” Angel is similar to the scene in Avengers where Coulson asks Black Widow for help to save “compromised” Hawkeye. Whedon likes the idea of strong platonic relationships between men and women and he was adamant about Widow and Hawkeye never being romantic. It’s the same vibe between Angel and Faith where we see that the one thing that convinces her to break out of prison is Angel being in danger. The one person who never gave up on her just like Hawkeye did with Widow. Now, Faith wants to pay Angel back and save him just like he did for her.
I like the contrast between Faith and Buffy. Wesley specifically wanted Faith because he knew Faith would try everything to save Angel. Buffy, on the other hand, would have committed to her duty of being a Slayer and would have killed him if necessary.

The First Slayer wiped the pure demons from the earth, think the Mayor giant snake, she was waaaay more powerful then any slayer that came after, guess being possessed by the concentrated essence of demonkind, thats what they offered Buffy the pure undiluted power like the og slayer had. The catch being she would become like the First Slayer a killing machine that doesn't really have empathy or human connection or anything like that.
I mean think about it Pure Slayer, its the easy out to what Buffy always fought against being nothing but the slayer with no humanity just hunting and killing. The OG Slayer spells it out for her in the s4 finale "just the hunt just the kill"

To clarify, angelus took out the beast because he's Hella strong and is loyal to his master "Cordelia" and only "cordelia" so there's nothing there for angelus to gain, the beast was just a legitimate threat to him and angelus didn't like that. So bye bye beasty. Also, loveeeeee seeing faith again and watching her put Connor in his place is just what was needed.

Spike didn't kill the last two slayers, he has killed two slayers, one in 1900 and one in 1977 (Robin Woods mother). But there has been several slayers in between and after. Slayers typically don't last more than around 5 years, many not even making it through their 18th birthday test (the one where Giles drugged Buffy to make her weak and she was then locked in a house with a vampire psychopath).

Angel - Where do I start? Faith coming back was perfect. Eliza looks so gorgeous but The Beast beat her ass good. That was hard to watch. Poor Wesley was conflicted with his feelings saying goodbye to Lilah. He cared for her. Cordelia is full on evil as The Master. Was it really necessary for her to kiss The Beast’s crusty dry lips? Why Whedon why? Finally, Cordy revealing she’s pregnant to Connor. The screams on the couch were hilarious and Spidey needs to become a full time psychic because he always knows what’s coming.
Suraj - You asked why The First didn’t go after Faith? Watch the scene again when Faith is attacked in the prison yard. Does the knife look familiar? 😁

SundayRundown Young Justice S4E16:
HUGE YOUNG JUSTICE SPOILERS RANA DO NOT LOOK OR READ BELOW THIS
Suraj/YJ couch, this comment is for you to read, and I think this episode is the perfect/last time for this comment and is something important for the couch to discuss as it came up this week in the reaction. Either Rana should cover her ears while this is read on the Rundown, or just bring this comment to the couch and discuss it with everyone if you would like!
It's time to discuss the Elephant sized Wally West in the room and to discuss the biggest fan theory in all of Young Justice and the most divisive topic in the Young Justice fandom that I would love to see the couch discuss. And that is the theory that Wally West is not dead. A lot of this theory comes from comic knowledge and theories of comic storylines the show *might* adapt and also the show using foreshadowing and hints. I personally do believe in this theory, and do believe that Wally West is alive. As was discussed in this episode you reacted to, we saw Wally's *ghost* again in this episode and again saw the impact of Wally being gone. I will discuss the major theory and the things going for it.
So to begin, we never see Wally's body, Wally *ceases* when he disappears, but we don't see his dead body, and in the comics, it is a simple rule, no body, not actually dead and Flash's *especially*, they love to disappear while running fast, only to return at a pivotal moment. Expanding on that, in the show, Wally's sacrifice and the moment of his disappearance is *incredibly* similar to Barry Allen's death in 1985's Crisis on Infinite Earth's, where Barry disappears, sacrificing himself to save the universe by running fast until he dissolves. In the comics, after Barry dies, Wally became the Flash and was the Flash in the comics until 2008 when Barry returned in *Final Crisis* to help defeat Darkseid, running himself back to life, outrunning death. After that and since then, Wally and Barry have been *co-Flash's* in the comics and right now in the comics, the *main* Flash who is the main character of the Flash comic, is once again Wally, with Barry as a supporting character. Now the theory mainly believes that in the world of Young Justice, Wally takes Barry's place, Wally is the Flash who disappears in a Crisis, and who will return in a pivotal moment, like Barry did. Not only that, but season 4 has been adapting huge elements of *Countdown to Final Crisis*, such as Mary Marvel turning evil, which leads myself and many people to believe, season 5 (should it ever happen) would be an adaption/version of Final Crisis, the DC heroes' final battle against Darkseid, and if next season is the battle against Darkseid... if they adapt Final Crisis, that would be where a Flash should return from the dead, and in this universe, that would be Wally.
Now to discuss the *hints/foreshadowing* the show has done since Wally died that myself and many people believe is hints that Wally is not actually dead. I'll start with this season 4 episode, while Chris is right that *in universe* the reason why Wally appears like Conner does is that Conner thinks he is dead so he'd imagine Wally the same way, but, as foreshadowing, we are seeing Wally/Conner as similar, appearing the same, Conner is a character that is believed dead but it's not that simple, so Wally appears the same way. Next lets go back to the season 3 episode *Nightmare Monkeys*, the episode where Gar has an acid trip and we see *Doom Patrol Go*. In that episode, Gar's hallucinations are lead by Wally West, his ghost, and in the sequence where we see all the dead Young Justice characters, and they start to die all over again in front of Gar... we see them all die again, *except* for Wally, we never see him die along with the other dead characters, again, a hint that Wally is different than the other dead characters.
But now, to me, the biggest hint that Wally is still alive, and the episode that straight up *convinced* me Wally is alive and that I can not be convinced otherwise. Season 3 Episode 25, *Overwhelmed*, the episode where Artemis sees Wally's ghost in purgatory, or so we thought. In this episode we are led to believe that Wally's ghost has been brought to purgatory by Zatanna, and M'gann and Zee together help Artemis see him, get closure and move on. However at the end of the episode, Zatanna reveals that is not true, that she can not bring a spirit forward and all of this was *imagined* by Artemis, but they never tell her that she imagined that. Basically, in that episode, we are shown Wally's ghost, and then, are told... *that actually wasn't Wally's ghost* and it was fake. Now, Zatanna's powers are always wishy washy, magic is hard to write sometimes, YJ writers very easily could have written that Zatanna used magic to bring Wally's spirit forward to help Artemis move on, but they didn't *they specified that she didn't*, that we did not see Wally's spirit, why specifically do that, why specifically have Zatanna say that, unless Wally is not dead, and therefore that can not be his spirit because there is a planned return for Wally later in the show. We are left with a *massive* Checkov's Gun, Checkov's Wally's not-ghost. There is a loose plot thread, that Zatanna tricked Artemis into moving on from Wally and lied to her that she saw his spirit when she did not... why is that thread left hanging, unless it will be resolved in a later season, and how else would that happen... unless Wally returns, and Artemis realizes she was lied to, she moved on, got a new boyfriend and then the love of her life returns from the dead, and we have a massive storyline in a future season of Artemis feeling betrayed by Zatanna. And Zatanna in season 4, in her own arc, was shown doing morally dubious stuff with her magic and her students to save her dad, we are seeing Zee is willing to do things with her magic she should not do... and Wally returning and Artemis' rage at being tricked by one of her best friends, would be a huge way to explore that.
So there is this ridiculously long comment about Wally, and why I don't think he is actually dead and the major reasons behind it.

Lol again just to clarify guys, The Powers That Be don't exist in Buffy. Things that happen on Angel don't affect things on Buffy unless one of the characters actually appears in an episode. Otherwise you'd hear someone on Buffy be like, "Man, it sure is crazy how it's raining fire in Las Angeles at the same time we're dealing with The First!" 😆
