Underwater Modeling - Carmen Phoenix (2/2)

The photoshoot was going well. Too well even. Phoenix was asking for air at regular intervals. The divers were also very quick to respond. There was no miscommunication or incidents. 

Phoenix herself was amazing—she was definitely the most experienced out of the four you’ve worked with before. Her ability to move and express herself underwater, her breatholding ability, her ability to control herself, and of course her courage to do this at all. 

You felt like long time had passed since Phoenix started posing. You looked at the photographer, and you could see from his movement that there was not much else to do. Meanwhile Phoenix was still posing on the wreck. It was vague, but you could see fatigue on her expression.

As expected, the photoshoot was done soon after. Of course, as the guide you swam close to her and extend your hand. At close distance, you could see clearly of her face—her eyes looked empty. She was definitely on the tip of her limit, just a little more push and god knows what’ll happen to her. As she extended her hand to reach yours, you felt that movement was all she could done at that moment.

You grabbed her hand, and pulled her close to you. Then immediately you lend her your regulator. While she’s busy breathing, you could feel the limpness of her body. So then you proceed to slowly ascend. This time, the others were following suit.

As you surfaced, you checked on Phoenix. Her eyes were closed and she wasn’t moving. As first, it felt like your heart was in your mouth. Thankfully after you called her, she coughed and opened her eyes.

“Cough! …H-hey… Haha, I’m just a bit tired… Sorry. Also thanks.”

Then you’re back on the boat. Contrast to the way here, Carmen was just lying down all the way to the shore. The paramedics already checked but apparently she was just very tired. You just sighed in relief and thought, of course she would be tired after all that.
