#Succession #SundayRunDown - What a finale. Ultimately none of them succeeding feels right. I think Shiv sums up why she changes her mind - I love you, but I can't stomach you. She loves Kendall, but said on the beach before they crown him he'd be unbearable and she sees him, feet up on the desk, in her dad's office, being all cocky and she can't bear the thought of him winning. The moment I didn't want him to win was when he went from being his brother's defender from Logan's violence (season 2), to the person continuing that abuse cycle with the stitches scene. Sure, Roman needed to be hurt to calm/regain emotional control, but it was still Kendall facilitating that violence/pain and I hated seeing it. For me, it was a glimpse at how he'd only become more and more like his dad if in charge. As for Kendall's kids, rewatch Boar On The Floor 2.03. There's a scene at the dinner table where Logan tells Tom to shut up until he's got him a grandchild, unless he's shooting blanks and with the info dropped in this finale, that takes on so much more meaning, as that very likely means Kendall can't have kids, hence the adoption/sperm donor routes they took. I can totally see that being something Logan held over Kendall as being a weakness.
As an aside, I was lucky enough to get a ticket to watch this finale live as it aired in a London cinema with some of the writers. It was 2 a.m. but the 400 of us in there had a great time, gasping and clapping through that 90 mins! The only problem with Succession - it ruins you for most other television, when you realise how superior it is!
