2024-08-06 17:49:05 +0000 UTCFrom the discussion of the office: The US is not at its peak but it’s decline, especially in the context of being a superpower, is overblown. It’s unlikely to change in our lifetimes. Not having desirable social policies isn’t really indicative of that. A while China is the second largest economy isn’t likely gonna surpass the US given some of the internal issues they’re facing.

2024-07-24 04:16:13 +0000 UTCDidn't notice you guys started Frieren. I can't imagine any of you not liking this one overall, but I am a little sad Ketty isn't on this one. Likewise I thought she would enjoy it most. I think you guys hit most of my key thoughts in your discussions. I appreciate the (I guess) perspective of the show and how it treats time. One thing you may not be doing is trying to keep track of some of time skips. The show kinda always references Himmel's death as the central time. 20 years after that is when she went to meet Heiter and met Fern. She spent 4 years decifering that text and then Heiter died. And currently they are 26 years after so they've been together for 2 years and just spent 6 months on that flower quest. If there's ever a reference to the defeat of the Demon King remember that was 50 years before Himmel died. Glad you guys are enjoying it so far.
