2024-06-26 19:36:11 +0000 UTCThe short time span from theater premier to streaming service drop is a big reason why "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" didn't do well at the box office. In the past it often took a year before consumers were able to purchase a film for home viewing and there was real FOMO if you didn't see films in theaters. Now there's no incentive for people to pay a lot of money for a two-hour movie theater experience when a film is going to be available to them on a streaming service just a month or two later. The short release window is one of the biggest factors as to why the film industry is currently in a horrible state.

2024-06-26 17:58:52 +0000 UTCI enjoyed this movie. It came out of theaters pretty quickly though. I guess it didn't do that well in the box office. The first third of the movie was unique but the second two thirds became too reminiscent of Fury Road imo.
