Chapter 24 Junk yard

No one knew what was inside Ruby's cute little head. They just focused on how cool Jaune was when he unleashed his power. He annihilated the mosterwolves easily, like he usually does.

He gained many coins, which is a plus. And when he finished them, he flew back to his chocobo. He sighed at how inefficient he was.

"I need more practice. This move is really powerful, but it ate too much of my stamina."

Jaune brought out the stamina potion. It was really good for replenishing his energy quickly, but he knew that relying too heavily on potions would hinder his growth.

He decided to train harder and find a balance between his powerful moves and stamina management.

Everyone then moved forward toward Midgar. They just needed to travel on chocobos, about two hours from the last village. They could see a large platform in the sky.

"Is that Midgar?"

Ruby asked Jaune. He looked at her and shrugged. He didn't know if it was Midgar or not. Ruby was trying so hard to stay as close to him as possible. She looked at Yuffie, who was now riding with him on Chocobo.

Yang secretly laughed at how obvious Ruby was. She was jealous of the little fellow who proclaimed that she would hunt Jaune down and marry him.

Pyrrha and Blake, who had already confirmed their relationship with him, didn't think much about it. They knew that whatever Jaune decided, he would never allow himself to neglect either of them. He was too sweet to do something like that. And it was they who pursued him, so they couldn't say anything.

"Yes, that's Midgar. It had changed so much since Shinra took over."

Ifalna spoke with sadness. She felt that the planet was crying in pain as Shinra drained the life stream out of it.

She, as Cetra, couldn't even help herself. How could she help the planet? But when she looked at Jaune, maybe he could do something, as he was very strong.

Jaune led everyone into the city. What he and everyone else met first was a mountain of junk. There were even monsters living there.

Jaune looked at everything with a serious expression. He didn't see much of the world, but he could tell that this city was messed up.

"This place is really dirty. Eww, look at that monster..."

Weiss couldn't help it anymore. She spoke when she saw a huge rat monster. It won't do anything to them if they don't move too close to it.

"Don't worry, Snow angel take this."

Jaune gave something to her. And it was something that she needed right now. It's a mask that has the ability to filter out bad smells.

"Thank you so much, Jaune."

Weiss smiled, then kissed his cheek a little. She needed to be more bold if she wanted his attention.

"Stop right there!"

As they venture deep inside the junk yard. They heard someone yell at them. It was a man holding a rifle.

"Why are you coming here through the junk yard and not the main road?"

"Main road?"

When the man heard what Jaune said and his confusion, he could only sigh. This wasn't the first time someone came to Midgar through the junk yard because they didn't know that there was actually a main road that directed them to Slum Sector 7.

Many died here because they were ambushed by the monster in the junk yard. But from the look Jaune and his group should be able to fight those monsters.

The guard then spoke to them.

"Follow me. I will guide you to Slum Sector 7."

Jaune looked at everyone to see if they had anything to say, but they shook their heads and let Jaune be the one to decide.

Jaune nodded and motioned for the group to follow the guard.

The guard led them to the iron wire gate that had many guards guarding the place. They looked out for any monster that came near the gate and eliminated them as fast as possible.

"We need to trim them down as much as possible. There was a day when we didn't take care of it in time and the swarm of rats invaded us. It's a nightmare, I told you."

Weiss face went pale when she heard that. She could imagine what it would be like to be overrun by a swarm of rats.

"Don't worry, Weiss. If they came closer. I just need to wipe them out."

Jaune saw how Weiss was uncomfortable. So he then tried to cheer her up. He didn't think that what he said and did would make her heart beat very fast.

'I am going to fight for this man.'

He wasn't only handsome but also very considerate. She never knew that she could like someone like that.

Yang, who saw her face, went red. She couldn't help but tease her with her usual pun.

"You are the one to talk. You like him too!"

"Well, I can't deny it, Weisscream. Jauney is so manly when he touches me here and there."

"Y-You how vulgar!"

Weiss was angry because she didn't get the same treatment as them. She wanted to stay with them at Jaune's home, but her sister wouldn't let her.

She felt sad when she thought about it. She needed to confront her and her father to let her stay at Vale.

They went inside the gate easily. There's no checking or anything. Anyone was welcome in the slum sectors. The lack of security measures made it clear that access to the slum sectors was unrestricted. People from all walks of life were free to enter without any form of verification or scrutiny.

As for Chocobos, they couldn't bring them inside. The slum sectors did not allow Chocobos due to limited space and potential disruptions caused by the animals.

"What should we do, Jaune? I don't want to be apart from Speedy!"

Ruby's eyes were watering. She loved her Chocobo very much. She knew that Speedy would be a great friend to Zwei.

When he saw how cute and pitiful Ruby was. He couldn't help but try to come up with a solution. He asked Ciel if the shop had something that could help her.

[I can recommend you to something. And it's not expensive.]

[Name: Mobile Animal Ranch]
[Origin: Doraemon World]
[Rank: Silver]
[Abilities: A portable animal ranch with 100x100 square meters]
[Price: 5 msc]

Jaune looked at the price and what he would get. It wasn't expensive at all. Unfortunately. It could only contain animals, not humans. Inside the ranch, the animal would be taken care of by something called a mini-doraemon.

The mini-doraemon would provide food, water, and medical care for the animals. Jaune wondered if there were any restrictions on the types of animals that could be kept on the ranch.

He looked at Ruby, who was now very hopeful. He smiled at her gently before he told her that he could solve the problem.

"I can help with that."

Jaune then brought out a device like a scroll. When he used it. The light came out of the screen and then covered all of the Chocobos, sending them into the ranch. Then the mini-doraemon inside the ranch would take care of them.

"Wow! That is so cool! What is that, Jaune?!

Ruby asked him and hugged his arm with her energizing enthusiasm. Jaune chuckled and explained to her what it was and how much it cost.

Ruby wanted it so much. She would try to grind coins and buy it no matter what!

As the matter of Chocobos had been solved. Everyone then went inside the slum.

...

Inside the Slum Sector 7, also known as the Undercity, was largely a home for immigrants who came to the city after it was built and was one of the more relatively safe and stable sectors in Midgar's slums.

The buildings were old and rundown, but the sense of community among the residents was strong. Despite the hardships they faced, there was a sense of resilience and determination in the air.

"This place is oddly charming, even when it looks so dilapidated."

Jaune spoke, and everyone nodded.

Ifalna looked around, then closed her eyes. She was trying to feel something, and then she felt it. It was a familiar feeling that she was yearning for.

She knew that her daughter might have come to this place. She could feel her presence here, but it was faint.

Ifalna's heart filled with hope as she followed the faint trail of her daughter's presence. She was determined to find her, no matter what.

"I can feel it. My daughter was here."

Ifalna was very happy. She hoped that her daughter was safe and well. Ifalna's heart filled with excitement as she tirelessly searched for any signs or clues that would lead her to her dearest daughter.

Jaune and everyone else helped them too, but no matter how hard they searched, they couldn't find any solid evidence of her daughter's whereabouts.

Ifalna's hope began to waver, but Jaune was always there for her. She felt that she still had hope.

"Why don't we go there? I think a bartender must have some information that normal people don't have."

Jaune noticed a bar called Seventh Heaven. He thought that a bartender might have more information than a normal passerby. They should have met a lot of people, right?

Not only might the bartender have more information, but he knew that everyone was hungry. They wanted to eat homemade food, not something he bought from the shop.

"That's a good idea. I like bars!"

Yang spoke with excitement, while Blake looked at her blankly.

"The last time we went to a bar you almost ran that place down. Please, for the love of Oum, don't try anything crazy this time."

Blake's cautionary remark made Yang chuckle.

"Hey, I can't promise anything, but I'll try to keep it low-key this time."

She replied with a mischievous grin. Blake sighed and looked at Jaune. She wanted him to do something.

"Bad Yang. Don't do something crazy."

"Wow, am I your dog or something? Oh, but hey, I like the idea of being your bitch, though."

"*Cough*"

"GGEZ"

"Yang! Stop it!"

Jaune shook his head. His face was red. He knew how Yang's character was, but it still caught him off guard. He cleared his throat and tried to change the subject.

"Well, I think we should go inside."

Yang smirked, and didn't make him feel more embarrassed. She simply replied.

"Sure, let's head in."
