Chapter 23 Personal preference

Jaune didn’t know that he had been a target of someone jealousy over a matter of gaining the attention of the strongest soldier.

He was now riding chocobos with his companies. Chocobos were big fluffy birds with a variety of colors. They were very friendly and cute. He thought that when he was going back home. He wanted to bring them with him too.

As for if they would be in danger if facing Grimm. Hah, Like those stupid Grimm could do anything to them.

The Monsters in this world were far stronger than those Grimm. They could even use magic!

“Jaune we are close to the village, Should we make a stop right now?”

Ifalna spoke to Jaune. Even though she was the native of this world, she let Jaune be the one who decided everything.

“Yes, We will walk them to the village so they would not panic.”

Jaune knew more about this world. This world is not only a monster that is dangerous toward people but bandits and outsiders too.

They would still welcome them but they would judge them if they could be trusted or not before letting them into their village.

Jaune's decision was very good. The guards that guard the village didn’t treat them badly like the other villages that they had visited before.

“Please tell me the purpose of visiting our village.”

This time it was Ifalna duty. Her speaking skill is great.

“The village is located on the road leading to the capital. We wanted to stay at this village before continuing our journey. As you can see We traveled by chocobo. We want them to be well rested and fed before we begin our journey again.”

The chief guard who guarded the village heard that and nodded. This isn't the first time the village has had visitors riding chocobos to the capital.

He collected the entrance fee to the village. The entrance fee to the village was only ten gil per person. And it's not expensive.

As for the accommodation cost, it was about four hundred gil. The cost of the chocobo's meals is included.

“Everyone, please gather here. I have something I want to tell everyone."

Jaune spoke to everyone when they finished settling in at the accommodation.

When they gathered they saw that in front of them there was a lot of materia.

Along the way to Midgar. Jaune had encountered many monsters and with his first class fighting power. He could wipe them out pretty easily.

But He didn’t want to be selfish so he left a considerable amount of monster to everyone.

Now with so many bronze coins. He could buy a lot of materia with an owner discount.

“I am going to give you all the materia that I have, Of course it isn’t free but you didn’t have to pay me right now.”

Jaune will sell them in installment.

Ruby was the first one who moved and picked up the best materia that suited her. Jaune thought that she would pick hast materia to boost her speed.

But it wasn’t like that.

“If I want to fight him. I don’t need speed but strength!”

What she bought was strength up materia. It will boost her strength about three times if she could master it.

She was beaten by Zack due to lack of strength and experience. She would get rid of her first weakness first and about experience she thought that continuing adventure with Jaune would give her that.

Next was Yang. She picked defense up materia. Her semblance works well with defend type magic.

“I am going to be a tank!”

She was unstoppable in the first place with that kind of materia. She would become stronger for sure.

Pyrrha chose healing materia while Blake chose magic up materia.

Pyrrha had many attack and defend skills with her semblance she needed something that could prolong her fight so healing materia is the best for her.

Blake…With her clone that was just an illusion but if she added magic into it. It could become a physical clone that could help her more.

Weiss, She skipped because she didn’t like anything and she waited for the summon materia which was extremely expensive.

“Er…Weiss, why don’t you choose something else first?”

Jaune tried to convince her but she shook her head.

“We can’t use many materia at once so I will choose the best of the best.”

That's what her bloodline told her. She couldn’t defy it. Jaune heard that he just shrugged. He will not force anyone to buy his goods if they don't want to.

He then looked at Ifalna. He asked if she wanted any materia which she shook her head.

“I already have many materia with me, So I don’t plan on buying it any time soon.”

With that the shopping ended. Now they needed to sleep in order for them to wake up early.

As he went to his bed he saw that someone was already there waiting for him. It was Pyrrha and Blake.

“Eh? Where’s Yuffie?”

Yuffie would always stay close with him. He didn’t sell her or give her materia right now because she already has what she wanted.

All he needed to do was teach her how to fight. He taught her lighting breathing. She was so natural at it and might be able to use the first form soon.

“We can’t sleep so we need our boyfriends to help us, Unfortunately we can’t do that when she is here.”

Pyrrha spoke with pride. She is his first girlfriend. Blake sighed. Sometimes Pyrrha was an idiot. She didn’t care about any of that.

“Come on Jaune, Are you going to keep us waiting forever. Let's sleep.”

Blake advanced and brought Jaune to their bed then the two of them hugged him like he was their personal bolster.







“What do you mean we lost contact with the main base?”

Inside a room that was full of monitminaors. A middle aged man was speaking with someone through the monitor. This man is the president of the Shinra Electric Power Company.

He frowned as he heard the news that the main base operation had been taken over by Wutai.

“How can that be possible? They shouldn’t have the resources to do that. We already secure all of their advantages.”

President Shinra was very confident that they would be able to win the war with Wutai. But with the lastest news. He wasn’t so sure anymore.

“Tell me everything in detail.”

President Shinra then was given all information related to how Wutai could possibly resist them when they didn’t even have enough food to eat.

When he heard everything. He then shouted to his subordinates.

“Get Zack Fair here!”

Everything went down the drain because one of his soldiers chose to help his comrade rather than focus on taking over the biggest advantage point. Because of that the chain event happened and his plan was set back for at least two years.

Zack Fair was one of his best soldiers so he couldn’t do anything too severely. He was also very close to Angeal if he were to kill him. Angeal might not take it lightly.

“What a headache. And what about that mysterious man that could even destroy Ifrit?”

He was as strong or even stronger than a first class soldier. The informant then gave him all the information that they had which was almost none.

He appeared with his group out of nowhere. Everyone in his group is at least as strong as the third class soldier. Their location is unknown.

No one knew where they were. Even their spies in Wutai couldn’t find anything. Only the most trusted ninja in Wutai might know about it but they were so loyal to their master. And They also loyal to their way. They would never betray the one who helped them.

President Shinra could only sighed. Originally he wanted to send his best soldier to Wutai’s Continent but it seemed that he needed to change a plan.

On a road full of dust toward Midgar.

Jaune and his group were now riding chocobos while fighting monsters like wolves. They were very fast. Even though chocobos were faster than them but with their numbers that waited to ambush them. It was hard for chocobos to keep running at their full speed.

“What should we do Jaune! If we let it attack us like this. Our Chocobos would be killed!”

Ruby spoke to Jaune. They could wipe out these monster wolves easily. But with the situation they were in. They knew that their chocobo might be killed during their fight with the wolves.

Jaune thought about it a little bit. Pyrrha semblance would be good in a situation like this but. She couldn't concentrate when she was riding on the chocobos.

It was harder than riding a motorcycle.

And not only her. Everyone else was the same. They couldn’t stay focused right now.

“It can’t be helped then.”

Jaune pulled out his spear from his inventory. He then used flight.

“Run along with your brother. I am going to kill them all.”

His chocobo warked at him like he understood his assignment. He ran along with everyone without a problem.

“I really don’t want to kill you all but you just didn’t give up when I even warned you all.”

His eyes change a little bit. His eyes became slit like the eyes of the dragon. The wolves still didn’t understand what they would get when they faced a higher being in the hierarchy.

Jaune then spun his spear with expert precision, summoning a powerful surge of lightning and rain. The crackling energy emanating from his spear sent a shiver down the wolves' spines, revealing the power that made them falter.

But even then it was too late for them to retreat now.

The wolves hesitated, their predatory instincts momentarily overridden by fear. Jaune seized the opportunity, lunging forward with a fierce battle cry, and unleashing his devastating attack.

His attack was so powerful that it brown them away and burnt them with the thunder.

“He became stronger again…”

Yang spoke while everyone nodded. Yuffie was very excited now. He was going to be her husband in the future. With Jaune as her husband. Who could possibly do something bad to her and her family.

“Let’s go husband!”

“?!”

Everyone looked at her. They were teenagers and adults so they didn’t think about it much. It must be just a phrase.

But Ruby was another matter. She felt threatened.
