2024-04-29 19:28:13 +0000 UTC#SundayRundown The sad thing is, Fallout was originally meant to be a dark prospective about untampered greed and how it would effect future generations. The prospect of exploring a wasteland that was created by a bunch of rich capital bros going unchecked was supposed to be a fantasy, but as time goes on, that reality keeps hitting closer and closer to home. This world had the same technological advancement up until WW2, and the moment Nuclear Power was unlocked, corporations saw it as a gold mine and exploited the hell out of it. Want to know why everything looks like it's from the 1950s? It's because the corporations won early and didn't see a need to innovate. They made TVs, why make them better when they could invest in the next product? Why improve engines? They run on uranium like everything else? It's an unlimited fuel source, why try to get more miles to the gram? The fact Cyberpunk and Fallout both had years in 2077 shows just how lazy this world had become, and how corrupt the leaders of Fallout had become. What hurts the most to me is that the NCR was legit a new starting point. It was revealed in New Vegas that the NRC was struggling with expansion, however the NRC felt it could throw troops at New Vegas because their home land was so secure. Literally thousands of people lived in Shady Springs, and if you played the original games you know there were other major settlements. Necropolis, a Ghoul populated city, Vault 13 and 15, and presumably more settlements along the way to Nevada. This was an entire culture created in the wasteland that was strong enough to survive, yet because Vault Tec had weapons and wanted to follow the original plan of themselves being the ONLY rulers of the wasteland, they had to stomp out the the first hope of a new tomorrow. I say this with everything I have: Fuck the Old World.

I mean, Cal Tech is in Los Angeles, after all. Who's to say something similar couldn't have been founded there, like the Institute was at MIT?

2024-04-27 13:06:41 +0000 UTCThere is on the season dvd. Found out via wiki the issue: This episode is a direct to DVD, Blu-ray and digital download movie. It was released on November 17, 2009, and aired on December 16, 2010 on FX as the last episode of season 6. So for me its the finale of season 5 but for them it will be the finale of season 6.

It's my favorite faction in fallout, it's a democracy, it's the closest thing to what we in the developed world would be accustomed to. Is it great? No, but it's the least bad. Also it has equality for ghouls and mutants under NCR law. Example, there's the ghoul in the NCR camp chilling at the observatory, the camera focuses on him because Lucy set him free in episode 4 from the Superduper Mart. And he's welcomed and accepted at the NCR camp. Also I don't think it's certain that Vault-Tec dropped the bombs first. Maybe, maybe not. They may have been planning it, but the fallout games have always been vague on who fired the first shot. Also if Vault-Tec had planned to start the war at a set date I don't think Cooper's daughter would have been outside on that day considering her mom was a high ranking Vault-Tec executive.

2024-04-26 17:34:43 +0000 UTCI don't think the wife and daughter are in Vault 31; that vault was for middle managers, essentially, which is why Hank and Betty were there. Barb mentioned going to a vault that oversees EVERY other vault, too, and 31 only interacts with 32 and 33.
