This was actually an important episode, just can't spoil it yet.

Christopher Rodriguez

The Normies are way too literal sometimes for shows like Buffy, lol. I don't think they get Campy humor. I'm convinced they watch way too many shows to PAY ATTENTION, lol

Bastion33

ToySouljah I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed IQ.

Pajander

I'm just gonna blame the director for the tone being slightly off. He's some rando who only directed one episode of Buffy and hasn't done much else either. Buffy has amazing comedic episodes, but this isn't quite on that level. Might be just a coincidence (n=2), but I just noticed Band Candy and Pangs are both written by Espenson and directed by Michael Lange and they're both hilarious episodes. Espenson also wrote A New Man, Superstar and The Replacement which all have a similar kind of feel to them. Unlike movie directors, TV directors usually don't even get mentioned and I guess they - for whatever reason - function more like salaried line workers, but a good or a bad director can still make or break an episode.

Pajander

Okay, sorry you feel that way, but since I know none of that is true, I’m not insulted in the slightest. Have a nice day though!!!!

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

anya as I'm sure you know already had that personality before, she is and I quote "annoyingly literal" and her friends discussing her is not only not unrealistic, it makes perfect sense, the og scooby gang feeling a bit not threatened but invaded by others i.e anya and tara makes sense too, they are barely out of highschool and not perfect people, they miss the comfy of the og gang, but such is life.

Macs

Nyeisha, you're being neurotic, dramatic, rude, reactive, and overall unpleasant. I mean that as an insult, and as an objective observation.

BetheSOUL

Band Candy was hilarious! We got Ripper Giles

1. I don't have to watch this specific reaction when I have seen other reactions to other episodes of Buffy as well as reactions to other shows they watch where the comments or statements they made was off and lacked a certain level of Intellectual maturity, like The Wire for example. I don't have to see this one to know that what others may be complaining about when it comes to their reaction to this episode might have truth to it because it's a common trait I have seen from them before. 2. You taking what I said as an insult and not believing me when I said it wasn't (which it wasn't, just an observation) is your problem, I have no control how you perceive it or even how they perceive it, but it was NOT intended as an insult, sorry you felt it was but I stand by what I said. I have watched them and have been a Patreon of theirs for YEARS now, I love seeing their enthusiasm for the things they watch, which is why I watch them, this specific issue is something I have noticed over the years and was just giving them my take on it, because they have actually over the years HAVE ASKED US what they could do to make their channel better and I was offering a suggestion, trust me others have done the same in much WORSE ways. Thank you and have a great day!!!!!

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid… wait, what were we talking about?!

ToySouljah

"Buffyverse takes a certain level of intellectual maturity and I’m not trying to be rude and I don’t mean it as an insult, just an observation but that’s one of the things that this reaction channel could work a little harder on. "---- A) you are leaving this comment based on the opinions of others and having not even watched the reaction yet. Doesn't seem like a very mature or wise thing to do" "buffyverse takes a certain level of intellectual maturity" (let me point again to A)- "I'm not trying to be rude and I don't mean it as an insult" is something someone oftens says after being rude and insulting. If you are gonna call someone immature or dumb, at least own up to it.

Chelsea

I gotta say…..I haven’t watched the reaction to the episode yet but judging by people’s comments you guys seem to have completely missed a very obvious character trait of Willows that has been there since the beginning and it’s alarming!!!! I say this because if you can’t grasp simple character traits like Willow’s overprotectiveness of Xander, you WILL NOT understand later story points that are a lot more serious. As much as Buffyverse can be campy and goofy and sometimes it seems like it’s meant for kids, it is NOT a kids show. The topics and themes they touch on will be serious and you guys misunderstanding a part of Willow that has always been there worries me for future reactions of this show, if you can’t understand Willow you won’t be able to understand other characters in the Buffyverse and these next reactions are going to be horrible. Buffyverse takes a certain level of intellectual maturity and I’m not trying to be rude and I don’t mean it as an insult, just an observation but that’s one of the things that this reaction channel could work a little harder on. Just a heads up, cuz these reactions have the potential to be the best reactions you guys ever did or the worst.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

The show was going to be called Outsiders like the DC team

CWall

I get it, The Normies watch a lot of shows and may forget some plot points or character arcs and relationships but when there are constant reminders, it seems they are still confused or have forgotten. Willow was completely in character towards Anya. Willow had the same issue with Cordelia and Faith. She has stated numerous times she did not trust any of them and was concerned that Xander will be hurt by them. It reminds me the confusion The Normies have about how someone becomes a vampire. The show has beaten us over the head with how it is done since episode 1. Hell, Angel showed us the process at the end of The Trial and the first part of Reunion. Triangle is also supposed to be a tonal shift to give audiences a breather after the depressing Joyce/Riley arcs. Penned by Jane Espenson, it's not her best work (Band Candy, anyone?). I think it's an average episode but by no means bad. Despite all this, I still love the reaction and look forward to more. It'll be interesting to see how the group reacts to the second half of the season.

TheyCallMeJeff

Yeah, they seem to forget some important plot points or character relationships. Willow and Anya never really like each other, it's pretty obvious. They tolerated each other for Xander. This epsiode just brought it to the forefront.

TheyCallMeJeff

@M. while I agree, please delete for spoiler reasons. They read Patreon comments for the Sunday Rundown.

Chaos T

@D1FRANC0 Mr. Rogers will be more bad ass and a better human than you ever will. Don't drag his name in the mud to make a shitty point.

Chaos T

I always think its funny, and yea M. delete

Macs

Come on dude. Delete this.

Shockzz1234

#SundayRundown The Reach is being played and exposed and I love every second of it. Idc, Arsenal is one of the MVPs of this season 🔥

Kuro

Would’ve been cool

Zee

You can't call Dark Angel 'Bangel', that's the name of the Buffy/Angel ship. I do love your reactions to his voiceovers, Angel is brooding harder than ever before

Steve Hayes

Their takes on the last couple Buffy episodes have taken me by surprise. I love the dude playing Olaf. He seems to be having a lot of fun chewing on every bit of scenery he can get his hands on. Willow doesn't really act out of character here. This is one of her persistent character flaws. Like a lot of smart people, she thinks she knows better than those around her, and thus the rules don't apply to her. For proof of this, look all the way back in season 3, where she attempts a delusting spell on Xander without his consent.

Tasker Thorn

#SundayRundown #Buffy This ep of Buffy may seem weird but it does have a degree of forshadowing in it also Magic in Buffy/Angle not only follows the Laws of physics but also works similair to Chemistry which is why they can't just figure out how to change Amy back.

All Mighty Lowercase Jay

Also fun note its so funny how people forgot that Spike has no Soul, so everything that he thinks is love is actually warped dark obsession.... Angel has a Soul and discusses it with darla; how angelous could never love darla but he did love buffy... while darla (during angel season 2) - is understanding how it feels to love with a soul, while spike (buffy season 5) is thinking he's feeling love without a soul ... and it only gets more cringier form here... lol

Ricardo Obregon

Wooo An awesome Buffy Thursday totally forgot the troll episode was next... my fav anya and xander episode... and i kinda see this as the beginning of Anyas arc through the series. and finally getting to the Hunt episode of young justice, this was a really fun one with the B team, and love how it ends just them doing thier own thing. and also getting Dark Angel... ooo i think were at the halfway point of the season of buffy and angel, and its been so much fun

Ricardo Obregon

Willow was reckless because she didn’t take into consideration Anya telling her not to steal store items and not doing spells in Giles store behind his back. She was selfish and only concerned with doing what she wanted to do.

Alison

@Calvin Allen while it's true all those women associated with Xander represent potential danger, it's also a bit hypocritical given the nature of Buffy's romantic relationships. Xander has no superpowers but the group dynamic should be such where they trust Xander's decision making. He's matured since they graduated high school and sometimes has the best wisdom of the group in the later seasons. I feel Willow's writing this season is some of the weakest writing for the character in the series.

Chaos T

i mostly know the troll actor from his teen years in the 90s. he was on the show "parker lewis cant lose" and would pop up in shows like blossom throughout the decade.

rickie woodson

worse? riley isnt in it so not possible........ i always like this episode. a definite must watch on the rewatches. its fun and funny and my favorite eps are always the fun campy romp ones.

rickie woodson

Do you think once you've finished Young Justice you'll join the petition to actually let them the creators finish the series?

Daniel Sessions

THANK YOU. someone with sense around here, finally

rickie woodson

she wasnt reckless, anya was interrupting her. if anyone was reckless it was anya who 1. has done magic 2. know how spells work 3. was told to be quiet so she doesnt mess up the spell. but petty anya is gonna petty

rickie woodson

i know its been a minute since season 3 but yall know whedon/buffy can get wild! ITS A CAMPY SHOW!!!!!!! it was not off and neither was willow. willow has always been "weird" or as tara says "quirky". this is her personality. she acted the same way when xander was with cordy. she has also made sly comments about anya since she has been around. anya annoys her some times and she makes fun of the way she talks. just cause she doesnt do it EVERY episode doesnt mean it happened "all of a sudden". the music was fine (dont even know why yall focusing on it lol no lyrics = im paying attention to the dialogue). as for why willow is still trash at magic: for the same reason she didnt have this fight with anya when she found out xander and anya were a couple. MELODRAMA. SUSPENSE! BUILD UP! we needed it to fester so it could be a big blow up rather than a simple "oh you think i would hurt xander? i would never hurt him so dont worry :)" same with her magic. we need to see her (willow) slowly progress and grow. its a 7 season show not a 2 hour movie so no need to rush. yes she has raw natural talent, but no skill/finesse. willow is SELF taught, its not like she went to magic school. even dark sorcerer giles cant do the things she has done so she is not as bad as yall say, she's just not a master sorcerress. yall need to give her more grace.

rickie woodson

I don't accept this was a "bad" episode of Buffy :0) It's just a bit goofy tone-wise. But it is hilarious.

Paul Mason

Ya think they were going to call it the runaways or something not sure how far they got in to it but there was talk about a few spin offs when HBO picked yj going to be like back in the day with the all DC cartoon be on the air and in the same universe

monkeyman

Great point. It’s a decision that’s far left that he probably couldn’t thought harder about but like you said, he wanted to over correct

Zee

Arsenal & the crew? Makes sense

Zee

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's poor writing

Calvin Allen

Which show are you talking about?

Calvin Allen

OOOOOH. Furthermore this explains why nightwing over corrects and immediately fires red arrow for not being a team player

Ksweets

#sundayrundown I remember reading that this episode was a soft pitch for a spin off show for yj. With the show getting cancelled at the end of this season that planne never happened

monkeyman

The Spike stuff ruins the back end of S5 for me. Making him a pervert stalker and downplaying it as funny. Its poor writing and The Scooby gang would never keep him around.

Tony O

Oh I hear you, like i said at the top I think it’s realistic I’m sharing from the perspective of someone who’s friends with adults on the spectrum and has worked with teens and kids on the spectrum or struggling with communication due to developmental conditions It’s hard to watch characters be judged for not being able to communicate in a way others want them to

space colon

#SundayRundown- The Host of the karaoke bar in Angel is able to read the aura of a person who sings in front of them. The aura shows what kind of person they are, what their current situation they’re in/hoping for, and is able to see a vague idea about what their path in life will be. When the gang sang he saw that a vision would come very soon and it would set them on their new path. Fire kills vampires almost as fast as sunlight, if Darla didn’t bust up that hydrant they would’ve been dust.

Brendan O'Connor

#sundayrundown. Nightwings failure here hits harder especially because he’s becoming exactly what he feared… Batman. Not trusting M’gann is something Batman would’ve done nightwing had the opportunity to have faith in his team and didn’t. Man this show is good

Ksweets

Yup. Start of next month is S3!

Zee

#SundayRundown - Whether it’s Red Arrow or Arsenal, you can count on a Roy Harper stealing the show. Ever since he joined the team in the second half of the season, he’s been on a “fuck anybody who’s an enemy” tour and I love it. I love Bumblebee but that was 100% NOT the time or place for that. They absolutely owe him completely. The Reach seems to be getting played by the Light and are completely oblivious to it. When G. Gordon is exposing you and looks like the hero, there’s a problem 😂

Zee

Still no cure for being a cunt it seems

DarthCaedus

only a few more weeks and then we will be into season 3 of young justice in december!!!!!!!!

rickie woodson

You comparing having a video released ON THE SAME DAY ITS PROMISED (just in the afternoon)- to beating someone's wife? Maybe take some time to reflect. Some anger management perhaps.

Chelsea

Feel free to stop buying the product if you're not satisfied.

Pajander

Is it 11/10/23 yet? No? Then you got what you paid for...

Chelsea

#SundayRundown fun fact the “Younger Justice” team is a reference to the 70s Super Friends cartoon where DC added 4 new multicultural heroes for diversity. The 4 consisted of Black Vulcan (replaced by Virgil/Static here), Apache Chief (Tye Longshadow), Samurai (Asami Kozumi), and El Dorado (Ed Dorado). These characters have also appeared in Justice League Unlimited (in a different interpretation) and Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law

flexluthor

Some writers left Buffy to write for Angel. Damn Chris eating 💩🤣 Also the comment section today " if you know what I'm saying"

The Answer

Simp Spike is the worst

Chaos T

I wish I got a "my bad" every time the ice cream machine was broke at McDonalds.....

Chaos T

Not one of my faves and agree filler episode for Buffy. Everyone was kind of annoying with the exception of Xander. Willow being reckless with her spells, Anya whining, and Buffy crying and whining. At this points, the writers are continually forcing the Spike is in love Buffy scenario so much it’s nauseating. He used to be fun and have other stuff going on with his character.

Alison

@Daniel Gonzalez, the standard month of 30 days has 43200 minutes in it. I'm sure the poster will survive not getting their fix right away.

Chaos T

Some of you go 0 to coked out really quick.

Chaos T

Well I admit one of my posts wasn't made with the best intentions but I think as long as you don't attack other and are reasonable honest feed back should be welcomed some people have limited time I saw some who said they only had 30 mins to spare to watch probably something they were looking forward to my opinion of they can spare someone they should monitor drops maybe right after they drop just to ensure everything is right with the links and all that if they can't ok its just a suggestion for me its not life or death I like things to be on a consistent schedule but im also probably just a little OCD

Daniel Gonzalez

Thank you I really do love the normies for reactions and I get if my suggestion isn't feasible I just think constructive feedback is a thing and I can't wait for the rest of a bunch more of your reactions

Daniel Gonzalez

I get that. I have messaged on discord myself with sync issues in the past. No I didn't say kiss them on the cheek, or act like it didn't happen, dramatic much. Don't invent things. I didn't ask you to do anything. I don't think there is ever an excuse to swear and be abusive towards people. Shouting because you wait a little longer for your TV show. Quick pass me the fan, I'm going to faint, and scream with the horror of it.

It'sThatPixie

Yay the internet where politeness gets forgotten! You know you can still make your point without being whiny, abusive and passive aggressive. I'd hate to see how you guys treat hospitality staff.

It'sThatPixie

The Normies

gawd damn yall doing the most in the comments

kai

WTF are you going on about? It's piss poor work ethic. The end. It would be different if this was just their hobby but when you charge money for anything it becomes a paid service. Just posting or saying "my bad" is never enough. Business Management 101 stuff.

Cliff Douglas

My apologies. The link appeared to be visible. Working on that now

The Normies

Chill out, Thursday is clearly their busiest day, with Loki and JJK dropping new episodes plus their regularly scheduled stuff.

Distantkarma

They're on it, chill tf out you crackheads

Johnny Blue

Or you know they could take 40 seconds to click the link they post to see if they work

monkeyman

Thank you. Like whining is gonna make any difference.

Tyler

We paying premium for this huh...

Michael Lopez-Zayas

Well I guess I gotta watch something else for lunch lol…

Zee

Something I feel like my money not worth it for you'll

Dj Eljay williams

Come on man I only have a half hour to watch this

Matthew Cronin

It's so easy to forget that these characters are supposed to be 20-21 years old ... yeah they're gonna be immature sometimes ... it's apart of being young and stupid

hannemanart

Isn't it crazy. The medium that they ask you to pay for they do poor oversight. But on the medium that very few people use for a variety of reasons is where they spend all their time.

Cliff Douglas

Private reaction. Just piss poor work ethics. How do you not do quality control?

Cliff Douglas

She doesn't like the women that Xander dates (because they are potentially dangerous): Cordelia was their bully, Faith was Faith, Anya was a demon. She fears for Xander. Unlike Buffy, Xander is both dumb and has no superpowers, it makes her extra anxious

Calvin Allen

Still Privated? Craaazy

Oppiee

Young justice posted 2 hours ago and its still on private, come on guys!

Andy

@SundayRundown I think it’s valid that a section of fans on the spectrum accept Anya as a portrayal of a person with autism (even if it’s problematic in some ways given her past and some of her more exaggerated behavior) It’s realistic but still frustrating to see the way Willow and Buffy talk about Anya, not only infantilizing her but being outright disrespectful (Also the way everyone talks about Tara) I think it’s good to portray these characters as flawed and show that our heroes aren’t perfect, just wish we could see them grow a bit more and try to get close to Anya (or attempt to understand her) I also don’t think Willow was 100% out of character, can be pretty rude to people who’ve threatened Xander

space colon

Actually I don't think anyone monitors post couple times its been a few hours but if you contact them on discord they usually respond but I don't have discord so its not gonna be me

Daniel Gonzalez

Same

Gino De Lucca

Trying to watch the Young Justice reaction and it keeps telling me its a private video.

John D

#Sundayrundown I’m not a huge fan of this episode either, it’s definitely filler. A few things to point out though: Willow has never liked Anya. It might stem from how they first met with the Doppelgänger episode or it might be a pattern of not liking Xander’s girlfriends (Willow didn’t like Cordelia). Also remember Spike doesn’t have a soul so he has a hard time understanding the difference between right and wrong or humanity in general. This makes his crush on Buffy a bit cringy.

Morgan Liffers

Thankfully the worst episode of S5 is now behind us. Marsters and Gellar managed to rise above the horrible script and provide a couple of worthwhile moments at least.

John Moreland

#SundayRundown all the character traits, motivations and story beats you see displayed in Buffy 5x11 have been established throughout the series. Willow hasn’t liked Anya since they first met in Dopplegangland in S3. In S4 “The Yoko factor” Spike exploited the distant relationship between Xander/Willow with making them fight about Anya. Let’s also not forget the demon magnet comment that Willow made in S4. Willow isn’t acting off or out of character she just let this issue with Anya build up until it had to come out, that’s why the troll being freed from the crystal is the perfect metaphor for them getting out their issues and moving on which was the point.

CWall

thanks for the feedback

Aadit Doshi

Everyone be chill. Enough ppl have pointed it out, I'm sure they'll get the episode up soon.

Chris " I wish willow was good at magic" me : just give it time. Honestly though, I Don't want to spoil anything but in terms of willow, she's been a bit to the side for a while cause the writers were wrapping up the Riley thing but give willow time, her storyline this season takes some interesting turns that shall not disappoint 😉 #Sundayrundown

Where's that guy who was talking about how much better its gotten and was acting like I personally attacked people for suggesting someone check the posts after they drop its cool we can contact that someone on discord but we also shouldn't have to

It keeps saying the Young justice video is private

Big Nate

First of all it seems Black Beetle is starting to have doubts about their leader and Arsenal was still on the run from The Reach in the War World. Meanwhile Nightwing and Miss Martian was searching for more clues about what happened to the team and he finally figured out that it was definitely Blue Beetle, not to mention G Godfrey finally got suspicious about The Reach after seeing how their ambassador lied about not having more ships which was their first clue towards the truth about them. Also Lex Luthor was definitely using Virgil and the others rescuing the team as a distraction so they could take the crystal key for the light. They almost didn't succeed if it hadn't been for Arsenal but it was still because of him they all got captured so easily cause he pulled that airlock stunt in the first place and as Nightwing said it wasn't the first time he's pulled a reckless stunt like that. So he made the right decision to kick him off the team and he just went with Virgil and the others. Then when Arsenal revealed how Lex was just using them, they dumped him. That makes two more problems solved. Now all that's left is saving Blue Beetle somehow.

Brandon Gibbs

hey folks, Young justice video is private

Aadit Doshi

#SundayRundown I think "Not Angel, not Angelus, what was that?" is kind of show lampshading the simplicity of the earliest Buffy episodes. Angel is a good person who feels guilt for things he didn't even do, because he remembers doing them. Angelus is the monster who will do any cruelty or act of evil up to and include destroying the world, because he thinks it's fun. "That", to use Darla's term, is what happens when someone of Angel's capabilities discovers he's also capable of a not insignificant amount of Angelus's cruelty. After all, humans have souls and do monstrous things. What makes Angel any different?
