#SundayRundown #Bleach In the review for Bleach 123 Chris and Navi brought up the topic of "Fighting Training Methods" and there seem to be a bit of confusion on why things are done the way they are in anime and movies and wheather or not its the same/similar in real life so i'd like to give you guys some clarification (short answer is its not just a trope but based in real life however i'll try to be direct and to the point). Typically when you're teaching someone how to fight the 1st thing that is done is physical training because you have to build up the body 1st not only to build endurance but also to limit injury. The second thing you do is build technique which is basically what to do, how to do it and why you're doing it (why you're doing it is the less important at the stage when building technique). The third thing you "learn" is sparring/actual fighting which is basically the real time application of what you already learned, so in essence putting your physical training and technique training to use. In sparring is where "why" you're doing something matters most as is "when" to do it this is because sparring is where you develop your fight IQ(yes, Fight IQ/Battle IQ is a real thing) through experience. Fight IQ is basically real time problem solving which can be understood by recognizing things like distance, position, technique selection(What/When/Why/How to use a technique), defense and strategy(any gameplans or traps). All these thing take a lot of time to develop unless you're very special, you can skip and combin steps to shorten the time frame at risk of serious injury (you can learn a lot just by Sparring at risk of Brain/Body damage and imperfect technique or combining Physical & Technique training into 1 like in Karate Kid "wax on wax off " the chores where strengthening Daniel's muscles and tender as well as teaching him how to block). Basically fighting is far more complex and nuanced to the point that everything can't be explained its easier to tell you to the chicken in the yard than it is to explain all the reasons its important and by time you finish you'd likely have develop and innate understanding of things as well so when its time for the concepts/training to be explained to you you'd already have a better understanding. Sorry for this being so long but i just wanted to make it easy and clear to understand with as much detail as possible.

It's now time for you all to start reacting to the "BLEACH" movies! Or at least 2 of them. All 4 films have fans of course, but the ones that everyone swears by are the 1st and the 4th. These also happen to be the films that Kubo himself eventually made semi-canonical in the later/recent chapters of the manga. The first film is called "Memories Of Nobody", and came out during the Bount arc. It was a spoiler for anime-only's at the time, because Rukia was still powerless in the Bount arc, but has her powers on full display in the film. You guys are good now, in that regard. 👍🏼 I would recommend NOT looking up the name of the 4th film, if you can help it. Not a big deal, but there's an episode of the show that leads right into it, where the title is revealed, and if you experience that blind, I think it'll make a great reaction.

There are 4 movies: Bleach: Memories of Nobody (2006), Bleach: DiamondDust Rebellion (2007), Bleach: Fade to Black (2008), and Bleach: Hell Verse (2010). None of them are very cannony and I know you guys have a long way to go, but, if ya'll want, you can just watch the first one for now to avoid any potential spoilers. They all flush out the universe better and showcase our favorite "tertiary" characters *Surge voice*. The first and last one are my favorites. Love ya <3

To answer Suraj's question about influence, one manga that took direct inspiration from Bleach was My Hero Academia. There is an interview between Kubo and Horikoshi and he said when he doodled characters during middle school many of them had Zanpaktos. He also directly referenced 'Bankai' in one of the chapters. He also took to heart the way Kubo names things so he wanted to really put meaning behind names. On the flip side, Kubo complemented Horikoshi's art specifically his background art. At the end you see a drawing of Deku that Horikoshi did, and a drawing if Ichigo that Kubo did, and both of them are in MHA uniform.
